Thidranki - The shame!

Tonight was my first night in Thidranki with my Huntress 'Gamina'.

I got there and a keep retake was being planned. We get all the ramparts together and everything is going smoothly, the guards are pulled and dispatched and the bowmen are taken out in quick succesion. We go to set up the ram and oh dear; no sewing kit.

So we spend 20 minutes infront of the keep dealing with the Guard pops and exchanging blows with the defending Albs and the sewing kit finally gets here. We make the rams and break down both doors quite nicely.

We then run into the courtyard and take out every bowmen/guard and every Alb in site and then rezz the dead. Now for some reason when all the dead were rezzed we all just stood there like lamas. The bowmen and guards popped again which coincided with a few Alb stealthers arriving and WE were taken care of within minutes.

By this point the CG is being flooded with "WTF!"'s and "Let's get back quickly before they regroup".

So we all release and get back afap only to find the gates again at full HP. Um..WTF? Do the doors HP reset or something?

Apart from that shameful event the night was excellent! The Albs defended admirably, a few names to mention being KitKat and Prowler who both got me on more than one occasion :)

I did pretty well for being the only lvl 20 in the place though hehe!

Nice on Albs, but be warned, the keep will be ours ;)

I was part of some skirmishes near the Mid bridge from about 11:30 to 0:30 GMT. Was great fun.

You had quite a daring minstrel who would speed in and stun us which was quite a pain if the stun landed. Your infils had a tough time at the bridge though when I was there. They were mostly unsuccesful but they got a few good kills in (at least during the time I was there). We tried to stay relatively close together for exactly that reason. We had quite a few support classes present also so there was a lot of healing/remove poison around.

I tried to play my shammy somewhat offensively last night. As I'm level 24 now I notice I can take quite a bit more punishment than at level 20 :) I can't do heavy damage but AoE DOT and disease while not really damaging seem to be great for keeping the enemy at a distance. And my bolt while not comparable to a wizard's fireball packs some more punch now also.

I got killed in the end when we were routed and I was a bit too valiant trying to slow the pursuers down. Another nice stun/DD run by your minstrel, a fireball by Sonicboom and some nice backstabbing by Shadeblade and the killing blow (or PA) I think by Asthor was more than enough to turn me into a bloody rug ;)

Was a bit disappointed though in Asthor and Shadeblade who thought it cool to stop and repeatedly laugh at my corpse. I think I put up a good fight last night so don't know where that came from :/ It's their right to do it though, but if they think they "owned me" they should at least thank their minstrel and Sonicboom first. Quite possibly Shadeblade is still vindictive as I once DOTed him while he retreated back up the PK to lick his wounds and my poison killed him heh ;)

The word to describe last nites battle is AMAZING . i can not believe u have not got the keep.
One of the reasons is that our boys are some best and most commited guys out there! We knew u guys were comin, we had a sense, u guys toook a little longer to return after one little skirmish on the bridge. Sure enough u came, but with a lack of tanks from wot i could see... but u had rams which lol took there time coming :)
I 'll just point out to u guys that we had no CLERIC for the whole 3-4 hours lol, all healers had gone to bed :(. Which makes the defending even more outstanding !! The names i would like to put but im sooo forgetful unless im killin u so forgive me. But to everyone who defended last nite i salute u :clap:

Yup great fun an BG last night.
To bad it wasnt me day for a lots of kills.
Screwed up alot (to close to Pinkeyes and here supress vision or how its called).

But also a good tactics about sending 1 runemaster in and a second runemaster comes in with supress vision, after the first runemaster casted his spells. Becausse whe went for the first caster and the second got alot of us. And they where guarded by a healer. Made alot of scouts and spellcasters less effective.
Meself had to come in close sometimes.

Still wondering about the time i was mezz in the centre of the bridge and stood there for 30sec and still alive with about 6 middies infront of me doing nothing.:eek6::uhoh:

Still was good fun last night. But i missed Hibs yesterday a bit.

Well, this is my first post in this forum, although I've been playing DAoC for a while now.

I had a great time last night! One of the best BG battles so far. I had to log at about 3.40 am because I had to be up early for work (just made it!) so I've just found out our keep attempt failed.

I thought we'd blown it when we fizzled out on the stairs. I also thought the Hibs were going to nip in and steal it when everything was wide open.

I'd like to thank everyone who took part, on all sides, for making last night an epic struggle all round. It's a good job my SB can take so much punishment or I would have spent a lot more time lying face down! At one point I thought I was a tank...

Sorry if I can't remember names but everyone who killed me and was killed by me - you have my respect.

One particular 'hello' to the Alb whose name I can't remember (I was half asleep by then) who saluted me as I lay dead in front of the keep stairs - a nice, honourable gesture after a superb battle.

To my fellow Mids:

Unlucky. Everyone pulled their weight and we nearly made it! Next time the Albs are in big trouble - we'll bring a sewing kit...

Yeah it was good fun in Thidranki last night, have to say tho, that Elf NS was a bit of a nutter, he came up to the keep and hit me for 3/4 of my hp and killed me with a DoT poison after the guards had minced him, no RPs for him, but respect for giving it a go :cool:

Was only my second go in BGs and I've got to remember I DONT wear plate mail anymore and DONT have over 1k hp, still not managed a kill yet, guess I need to hit 24 to be on par with the rest of you. :D

You left at 03H40 and they were still busy?!? Man...I'm glad I levelled out of there otherwise I might call you all wusses since, unlike us, you picked late night week night to try take it... :sleeping:

Last night was a lot of fun... I left at 4:30 in the end, and the Middies were still bashing their heads on the door.

I must have annoyed Imfanris (I think it was) a treat though... while you were on the second door, I noticed some poor shammy or runie (whichever one it is with the spirit champion) sitting down by the bridge on his lonesome.

Managed to one shot him, pegged it, stealthed, came back; He'd been ressed. One shotted him again... pegged it, stealthed, came back... Got him a third time, but by the time I came back for a fourth shot you'd got the doors down - so I went back up to the gate and commenced shooting anyone I could target through the open gates :D

I was right next to him the second time you got him and it was only then that I realised where you were!

Didn't I kill you at one point? Or was it the other way round.

As for attacking in the middle of the night, this whole thing began much earlier. It just took bloody ages...

im not one to shoot rezzed peeps to be honest, its no fun and is unfair on the mid or hib. And rp's dont matter to me either really not in bg's anyway.

It's just fun being there, i kill fairly :) I think i got about 25 mids approx last nite :D

Also nice of the hibs to show up with a few bards to calm the mids down a little :p :p

I guess it proves that even if you beat down both doors the keep is not yours yet.

Really enjoyed myself tonight, but due to me getting a huge amount of kills, I ended up going slightly over the limit (372RP) and having to come out of the BG's.

To the Alb Siny, thanks for a laugh, was fun.

To the Alb Sma, well played but don't attack a Skald from the front :p

To the Hibs.....uhm.....what hibs..

Thanks for all the fish, I'll be back soon with my hunter Spedgus (level 22 atm) to make sure you don't get into too much trouble.

Flibble the minstrel /salute's you, for your dodgy siegecraft which took its time. :)

Any lone middies/hibbies who went up the tower were dealt with severely. :D

Incase it makes any of the middies feel any better.

When yous entered our keep, i found a great sniping position, just shot you like flies as yous ran around the arena area wondering who was shooting you. I hope it helped turn the tide of the battle, not wanting to rub salt in your wounds :)

Good luck next time, and hopefully you'll get a smaller group of albions to over run, since we had a massive force of 8 with no healer :)

It was my lv20 merc's first bg rvr experience ,was great fun and even battles i have to say i wish high lv albs would fight like that;) but anyway i got 31rp in 45mins roughly maybe less it was good fun and i gave some of those mids i nice crack with my 2 hammers:p

Oohhhh, we held the keep with 6 defenders for 3 hours of door bashing until you finally gave up.....

no i dont hardly at all or i would have 3 or 4 lv50s if i didnt work which i do sadly i just play til late at night 2 or 3am.
