Thidranki: stealthers

OMG it's unbelievable the last time, only stealthers in thidranki, why does everyone want a scout and infiltrator when they are sooo badly nerfed in a few patches?

Ok, this topic sucks, but I just wanted the first one on this new forum

Anyway, assassins don't get nerfed. archers do admittedly but they're still good.

In Thidranki nobody has any very good stealth anyways (or if they have reasonable stealth they are gimped in all other skills). Stealthers are a lot easier to kill there for my little level 20 bard than will be anywhere else in the game - you can see the sneaking up on you before they can get too close, and unstealth them with a shout (and don't forget, Hibernia is finally getting an insta mezz spell, and bards get it ).

I have 23 CS, 19 piercing, 24 stealth, 2 blades, 5 envenom, 3 CD, if that is gimped at lvl 24 then i dont know, my dmg cap is 377 and i been killing loads of SBs/Infils, infact i killed them more than they have killed me.

Anyone whose main was NOT a stealther and has been killed lots by them, rolled a stealther alt.

Me, I spent too much time begging bards to join our group for the mezzing, and for speed and end songs, so I made a bard.

My itemized build for thid was
18+4 thrust
21 CS
19+5 stealth
16 envenom
5 DW
and it worked quite nicely, and i`m yet to die to any hib char since they are quite gimped at low levels, and only 45+ shows their true power

That's hardly a nerf, just takes a little more skill. If you read the vault boards you'll find it's still possible to take out people in groups without being seen, it's just not quite as simple as pressing a "kill" button, assassins might actually have to be sneaky like they should be.

Yes its with items, but then again infils get 2.5x spec points to spend, compared to Nightshades that only get 2.2

The removal of 1-shot dosent bother me any more i am more than capable of taking my targets when i have the luxury to pick them Took Gromit in 5 hits yesterday mm yay (dammit i hate clerics )

Stealthers doing good combo work in BG. I have a lvl 24 Druid and was standing off to the side of the main battle.. Everyone had gathered at the middi TK. I stood watching..

I got hit by equivelent of a void bolt.. it took like 24 damage i waved at the guy.. and then out of no where 2 stealthers hit me one on either side.. with a second bolt to the front.. needless to say i went down.. but gave a good wach or two.

Well, in normal rvr I got nailed in 1 shot by Creep, 1074 dmg when I sat down. Problem is there was a lvl 50 smite cleric and a lvl 50 slash merc next to me, so he was seriously dead. I don't see how you would be able to kill enemies when they are in a tight group without being killed then.

and alb has much less +skill items than hib ;P and remember - you get shout, while we have 4.2+ spd crossbows
What hurt most - lower starting con, the difference insignificant at higher levels, but decisive at 24.

If the cleric was smart he would have pbaoed-mezed and de-stealth him.

what items are you using? tell meh!

you only destealth if you get hurt. cleric mez though will mez the nightshade, and give the cleric a chance to try and find him

Oh no! you can't kill greys in groups! what are you going to do? find a decent opponent! heaven forbid!


Any decent assassin won't be affected.

Note 2 all Clerics then, do a PBAE insta smite then follow with a PBAE mez straight after to uncover and mez the little buggers

i was that cleric that helped killing creep..but i ain't 50, only 44...and i don't get see hidden m8...so assasins can get close enough to strike (playing infil myself too)

ib was sitting down = 1 shot kill vs a pala from creep
when he died i was watching some tv, heard a scream..turned back to computer screen en did a stun...which worked and started smiting him + merc hitting him on the 2nd floor at our wall, since creep trying to jump over the wall -> 1 dead creep

nothing to do with smart...but when i'm waiting 20 min on our group to fill up...i tend to look at tv or do some other stuff...boring when no one is around but stealthers i can't see anyway

I thought razorboy was 1 hit dead, and creep remained stealthed but if you stunned him he wasn't stealthed, so the subject is 1 hit dead or remaining stealthed after killing someone?

I've noticed a lot of stealthers in thidranki too. I can't go 5 minutes without someone shooting me or backstabbin me. I almost always get away tho, i have a full set of coral armour so with my con buff i have plenty hit points. (almost as much as my feeble eld ) Only times i've been killed has been when i've either been low on hp already or not payin proper attention and been on wrong bar (whippin out my flute instead of sprinting on one memorable occasion). A few stealthers don't seem to know what they are doing (but then i'm not 100 % sure how to play my bard ). I've killed one stealther twice now (never caught the name) by spottin her in stealth and dd shoutin her out then mez. Both times i discovered i was alone and when i hit her she then turned and ran tryin to restealth. But run from a bard! Are u mad? I just followed close behind shoutin every now and then whackin at her back with me hammer for pitful damage (don't know if i should admit this here but i've gimped my bard slightly so i get speed song 3 for the lower bg ). She was a scout and reckon she would have owned me if she'd only turned to fight instead of runnin. I may be wrong but the time it took me to kill her makes me think that she had more than a fighting chance of kickin my ass. Perhaps she's specced as a sniper and isn't very good at melee and of course wouldn't know that i'm currently specced badly for soloin too. Whatever the reason is, it does feel good to take down a yellow con without takin more than a scratch when i struggle to kill blue mobs solo.
