I'm telling you what i see with my eyes. I'm very grown up at 35 years old, and i have a very good grasp on reality. I have a reasonable grasp of the English language, and have a reasonable education. Thing is, this idea that a zerg is a bad thing is also quite amusing really. We're taught throughout life that there is safety in numbers. Lets face it, what is a full group? Thats surely a mini-zerg of 8 people. Exactly how many people constitute a zerg?

It's just another obsession really. I've heard plenty of times 2fg's being described as a zerg, when they've just rolled over 1fg. So i guess that really, a zerg is whenever there more of them than there is of you. Thats a situation where you'll get beaten due to numbers, so people say it was all zerg and no skill, and then come to freddys and whine about it.

Now really, lets look at utility and balance. The game is "balanced" to even up the American servers. Lets look at the best groups that the game can produce. Lets imagine that these imaginary groups are all of the same realm rank and ML etc.

8 Hibs > 8 Mids > 8 Albs.

Thats just how the game is balanced, and has nothing to do with playing skills or whatever. It's just how the toons are and the game is balanced. So surely if albs are indeed the masters of the zerg as people so insist, maybe this is actually something that is forced by the game system istelf rather than anything intensional, and surely it would be time to put this particular whine to bed?

Its more or less a population problem 2bh albs have more then mids who have more then hibs thus due to this albion have a much higher chance of well out numbering any enemys and thusly from mids and hibs perspective they r Zerging, its the same on nearly every server inc american servers excal isnt as bad as pry though on pry mids and albs have simular numbers but i play hib there an we r on average out numbered 3-1 per realm.
A trend i have found in BG1 is who ever has the CK seems to be the realm zerging at that point, and 2bh its the only time u ever see any hibs out in numbers in bg1 is when they have the keep. I played Alb Excal for a very long time so i know what im talking about and only recently moved to mid excal and believe me emain/bg1 is the same albs outnumber every1 so if they want 2 or not they zerg.

I think we're actually saying the same thing here really. The population makes the game balance as it is. There are more albs, so you'll see more of them. My original point that the statement "only albs zerg" still stands. I still believe that my point that albs not only zerg more, but actually *have* to stands also. I guess im somewhat off-topic here really tbh, as things in thid are almost on an even keel.

1.2 second cast time on a mez not including quickcast means unless you jump or are on skald speed you wont get the insta in. Even if you do most albs run 2 sorc. Its just the lack of organised GG's that make the rest of the albs look bad or people are jsut stuck in old habits/too lazy/cant run a fg.
I dont like zergs cus they IMO (look its bold) they are the dullest things to play vs or in since there is no excitement at all for me. But thats just IMO other prolly like it in whihc case you should keep doing it if thats what you enjoy.
But its stupid to say albs cant make proper grps since the introduction of toa

I know it appears that way but on saturday I did a test with a mate - there were 34 albs online at that point and 31 mids - seem balanced? But of those albs there were 4 buffbots by APK and for the mids 6 buffbots - then when you break it down further there were way more mid stealthers online than albs - so what you had were a lot of mids out to own with their stealthers whereas the albs were playing more 'visible' classes - thus even with about the same numbers the mids felt outnumbered and were complaining about the alb zerg...

Generally this is 1fg + 5 adds.
In comparison Say 10 albs again for arguments sake are stealthers 24 albs left, in the morning there were no alb grps seperated from the zerg 2 hrs gaming and the only fg's were hibs which i saw and later on a caster debuff grp.
24 albs vs 12 mids amg/mmg.
Albs tend to be all in one place where as mids tend to spread, call it what u will but thats how it is. Albs have a cg mid do not, (leet attitude of gank grps i guess).
