You want to have a challenge, get yuor group to 50 and artied up(will take about 1 month) then go out into real rvr and meet a group like pe, malstrom, legacy, rising force or even Evitas group.

Then you know what fg vs fg rvr is all about.
tbh i have no idea where this part came from, has no relavence to what i posted at all as far as i can see :(

Thadius, do you even read what I write?

They are not in Thidranki to kill people learning their class! That is not their idea of fun! They want to fight versus other groups who have spellcrafted characters as well. You said yourself it takes a whole month to get your characters TOA'ed up. Isn't it sadder to spend a whole month in boredom rather than going for instant action?

Killing bluecons is no fun. Killing characters without spellcraft is no fun. Duelling other characters with a spellcraft in a close fight is fun. I cannot do this at level 50 RvR, because that costs me £8 a month for a bot and countless of hours of farming for a decent template. I do not like that, therefore I do not do it.

Do you get it now? The idea is to have fun vs equally good opponents, not to smash all people who don't stand a chance. You can say I'm skill-less for searching even fights in Thidranki, I don't care. I'm fighting versus equally skill-less people, so it's pretty fair. What I do care about is you calling me sad, even though you have no clue about me (except the fact that I have a spellcrafted character in Thidranki).

I know quite some people who go to level 50 RvR without spellcraft as well by the way. Does this mean this is the way it should be and that everyone with spellcraft and artifacts is sad? Surely not?

Personnaly I was opposed to the cluster at the start but have come round to it and looking forward to it now.
And while I agree it's no fun killing a blue con with no kit on,it's not really hard to cap resists and stats on a thid char.
As for ppl "trying and learning there chars out in thid in free stuff",well simple really if you had to lvl the old way you would know your char at lvl 20 surely?
So in my opinon I'd say 60% of ppl running about with no gear on are running for a laugh, more than likely from a different realm, the other percentage are noobs or just ppl wanting a break from other stuff in game,but......
That will never stop me killing them because they will get a false sense of security if they are really new,so not really fair on them in the long run.
If they really are new,it 's up to us all as hibs/mids and albs to help kit these guys/gals out,it does'nt take that long to make 99% weops and armour, get it SC'ed,procced, and 30 mins tops to make thid template,so give or take a few nice ppl and 2-3 hours you got yourself a nice thid char :D
From what I've read our new Excal buds will be running with full sc'ed gear so lets get it on
And Thad just be thankful I'm on same realm as you bud

I've said this before and will say again, those who play thid 24/7 (Brokeninfil, Blokkie, Hib GG) can't cut it in real RvR so they like to become leet by killing players of a lower standard, so if I were you I'd stop making retarded arguements, pull some of that sunshine outta your ass and smell the coffee

fyi i have a 7L2 warden that i do play. i can handle level 50 but its not as fun, and thid is a cheaper alternative, easier to level new chars. its not as time consuming. thats the main reason

That's partially correct, at least for me. I indeed can't cut it at 50. Here is why:
- I don't have a bot, so solo is impossible.
- I don't like to farm, so I got a sucky spellcraft.
- If I'd get in a decent group with my gimp spellcraft I'm not online at the right times anyway.
- I don't particulary enjoy keeptakes as a shaman and leveling another toon to 50 is too boring to even consider.

I don't try to be leet however. That's where you're mistaken. If you would have bothered to read my posts you would have noticed that I don't like winning fights with 90% hp left. I like the ones where both involved back of at 5%. If you would have bothered reading my comments in other threads before forming an oppinion about me you would also have noticed how I said i don't have any skill. I'll say it again: I press 2 buttons over and over again and I do not even do it at an extraordinary speed. I have no skill.

I do not like killing players of a lower standard either. As you said, I am not good enough to cut it at 50, so I go looking for people who have a standard comparable to mine. I find quite a few of these people in Thidranki. Is it wrong to fight people of the same standard (albeit a lower standard than the level 50)? Do you think I should just go to level 50 RvR and feed the players who are so much better than me with RP's? I'm sorry, I don't find that enjoyable and thefore will not do that. I rather fight fights where I stand a chance (as well as my opponent, fights where my opponent doesn't stand a chance are boring).

The reasons I like to paly BGs are:

Guild group stopped playing camlann and lots of friends etc went to WoW.

I did enough ToA on Camlann to last a life time, and even then only got ml3 and was terribly bored (completed all but one thing to get to ml5).

Getting and leveling artifacts is Zzzz.

Having played DAoC for a long time I find PvE ultra boring (came back from wow as the pvp there is kinda Zzzz).

Unlike fg v fg "proper" RvR where you need all 8 people, and it is nice to be grouped with the same people to learn styles, well BGs offers the ability to run out with just a cpl of friends and take greater numbers at times, and most importantly have a laugh(see ToA reference above :< ).

Final reason is it is quick and easy fun, and if like minded people from other realms have a similar idea then that is all the better as both parties will only really gun for each other.

Also, in all honesty there must be a very very small percentage of players in BG that are complete novices

I can actually, I just find it sad, I hardly ever go thid with dodge anymore, found it too boring running around solo, unbuffed (mostly) with RoGs getting ganked by all the 'leet' players

Not sure wot you lot are on about. Everyone will attempt to make their alt as good as it can possibly be. That is the nature of us and the nature of the game. Mythic made the game and so are responsible for that. It is a shame the game has become so elitetist though. After all the game would be just as good - infact far better - if sc/toa were removed. After all if no-one had any advantage you would in theory find the best player. Now though? All gone very cloudy. On the one hand I like to see a player making the most of his alt but where does it end? Now I see that RR2 players are in Thid. Really you should have played when I had PKJ and 2 buffbots. Used my girlie's account to get haste as well as the usual buffs. I was slagged off for ages about the buffs being the reason for killing people. Can you rise to the challenge though? Remove your buffs and no toa just like I did. Then when you kill buffed/toa'd people they haven't any excuse whatsover. If you think you are good or are bored with the fact you are definitely overpowered then remove buffs and drop the toa!

Thadius you should go back to Thid and get some SC armor and learn to play there.

Maybe you stop to do strange remarks on the forums then ("or even Evita's group") or at least stop to tell Sorcs in game to run the mezz group chant instead of own speed.

The comments about sad guild groups in Thidranki are sad. Don't see what's so hard of doing a reasonable group of Level 20-24 chars, especially with "/level" and especially where it is far easier to do proper Thid SC suits instead of the ToA/ML bullshit you need in order to compete in NF RvR and especially when you have a Level 50 char to finance it.

Clustering for Thidranki will definatly bring one thing: Instead of 3 gimped Shadowblades hugging each other on bridges we will get 6 now. Minimum... Looking forward to it.

Also looking forward to see some new faces. My Infi and now also BB are ready. Might roll other chars for Thid if it's good :).

sorry to burst your bubble but when you fight 1 on 1 then the classes are the determining factor and not skill or whatever - especially in thidranki where the difference (template, realm rank) are minimal. Also some classes can do well without buffbots while others are pointless (e.g. a caster without buffs is free rps cause he cannot kill fast enough before he gets interrupted - exceptions are warlocks, BDs and air theurgs (with luck) while most tanks will do just fine without buffs)
And from my experience there are VERY few rr2s on pryd/bg1 - on excal that's rather standard which is another reason to not play bg1 on excal.

Another intellectual post lol.

You do actually realise that people play the GAME to have FUN right? thats FUN, F U N.

For me, i don't have great main characters RvR wise, or to put it in your childish language (and in a failed attempt to try and belittle people) - ''I can't cut it in RvR''. Please note thid regulars Hamro (RR7L2) & Coldbeard (RR7L0), i assume u think these players ''can't cut it in RvR'' either?

I've done ToA (ML10 and artis) which i had fun completing at the time, that fun has now gone for me. As has levelling another char to 50. Note these 2 scenarios are commonly referred to as ''grinds'' now, and so, as the main objective of this GAME is to have FUN, i wont be doing either of these anymore. The only real enjoyment i get from RvR these days is occasionally duoing with one of my m8s scouts.

As for ''they like to become leet by killing players of a lower standard''. If this was true why would all the players u mention leave alone blue con/unbuffed/no sc/ soloers after killing them perhaps once or twice?

So in short, i play Thid because i enjoy doing so, for the many reasons mentioned by other ppl in the above posts.

I dont really expect a sensible reply tbh, just more silly flames or comments from yet another FH troll. We can only hope.

P.S. I AGREE WITH THUGS! :eek6: (well the first half of his post anyway) @ Thugs!

Now I think you are wrong. I first started playing as an inf when sbs were rock hard killing machines. I still did very well against them. No SC then and NO TOA. Everyone had crap stuff on or fantastic stuff from doing quests in the game. I can remember getting that 100% gladius eventually. Damn the game was soo damn good then. But you go on about skill being based on your stats. Load of ballocks m8. If you thought that then how the hell have I killed so many far far stronger same level opponents? I used to catch sbs all that time ago and avoid them face to face by spinning etc. Anything I could think of to avoid getting hit whilst trying to hit. Honestly everyone's idea of skill is very badly flawed. IT IS NOT JUST KITTING YOUR ALT OUT IN THE BEST GEAR GOING. You need to think of ways to stop the damage taken whilst damaging yourself. It is not by standing still and doing sod all while trying to get your styles off. Against mobs yes but not actual players.

Really skill can be summed up quite easily and quickly:

Skill = the ability to extract as much out of your alt as possible without cheating.

I tell you now you put me against a same level player in the same gear and I will kill him. How? Cheating? Is timing run-throughs to avoid hits not a skill? You can time a run-through to stop an armsman getting his heavy style off for instance. Pure timing. Too slow and he will connect. Too fast and he will swing around and connect. Skill pure and simple. There is so much more to an alt than just standing bloody still. That is just utter rubbish.

The game at Thid level reeks of skill. Just that the ones that are unskilled haven't an idea how to become so. They then slag everyone off to make up for it.

One more thing it must have taken me a good 6-12 months to work out how to fight with my Sbs after losing constantly to buffed infs whilst buffed myself. Took 2 sbs to level 50 to work out damage and moves. One full la and other full crit. The outcome was nothing like either. Then I had to learn how to fight which took ages again. Now that in my mind adds up to becoming skilled. Since doing this I kill infs whilst unbuffed and they are buffed. How do you account for that?

you are mixing up skill with experience: of course it is easy to kill people who bought the game 3 months ago and their highest char is lvl 24 when you on the other hand play since daoc release and have multiple lvl 50s on various servers and realms.
Running through works because most people don't know how to counter it (admittedly for a caster run-through is a potential killer) some even don't know how to face; when I play my sorc and get jumped by an assassin I often just circle strafe and let my pet kill the enemy without even taking 20% damage. Is that skill? No. Experience? Yes.
I agree that there are good and bad players but the class choice is more of a determining factor than 'skill': If I would play a bondenacner i could just quick bind insta lifetap to all keys and smash my head against the keyboard and still win against 90% of the enemies - is that skill?

That fits my situation - Mincer - unbuffed in Rog drops - when you do get a kill solo - gr8 to see they are RR2 in SC gear :)

well imo Garba skill and experience are exactly the same thing, in my head experience equals skill, since youve been playing a class for long. you become experienced and get more skilled at it the longer you played. how can they not be the same? cant we honestly say a person is skilled playing the same class for years(which most people in rvr do). is skill the abillty to quickly figure out a how to play a class and switch tactics depending on the circumstances, when you played your char for 1 year +, does the skill dissapear?

I'm afraid I'm too retarded to get this :(. I would think that if you knew I was going to use that arguement, you should've realised that I'm not playing to be leet as well? After all, you apparently knew I don't like killing others, but like fighting others.

Why do I like fighting others? I don't know. As Garbannoch said, in Thidranki there is little you can do to influence the result, the only things that really matter are spellcraft, spec and class. If skill exists, it only matters a bit. The point isn't why I find it enjoyable however. The point is that I find it enjoyable and therefore will continue playing like this.

I don't consider my enjoyment to be worth more than others' however. You said you don't like to be ganked by people with a spellcraft, well I won't do that. I almost never attack anyone unless he has attacked me first. Once more: I don't play for the kills, I play because I like close fights. Be those fights vs two bluecons or vs a spellcrafted player, I don't care. As long as both sides have a decent chance to win I'm happy.

I have not yet seen you actually trying to argument your cause. One-sentence-semi-flames are all you seem to produce. If all of my arguements are wrong, then please explain to me why they are. They seem perfectly viable to me. However, because of my sheer stupidity I might be mistaken.

My arguments in short:
- Level 50 RvR is too demanding.
- I don't get why Thid-sc sucks and level 50 sc makes you a good player.
- I do not destroy Thidranki for other players - they don't have to fight me.
- I play versus players with equal equipment/lack of skill.
