Important notice : Game password being changed.

Hello,

These last days, you have probably noticed unusual things on Dark Age of Camelot :

1. Shutdown of Rightnow !, our customer service tool.
2. Shutdown of the subscription system.
3. Unusual events on the Prydwen server.

Since the 18th of August, Dark Age of Camelot Europe has been the victim of computer crime, like many other well known online services.

GOA's technical team immediately implemented a series of preventive measures, which resulted in the shutdown of our customer service tool, Rightnow !, and of the subscription system.

We have also lodged a complaint with the competent authorities.

As a cautionary measure, we have decided to change your "game" passwords. The game servers should thus be stopped for a maximum of 5 hours. The procedure of sending the mails should take about 24 hours, so do not worry if you do not receive your email right away.

In the days to come we are going to process the change of all "subscription" passwords. Services shutdowns are thus planned in order to finalise the reinforcement of the security measures of our platform.

We will keep you informed during the week of the precise planning for the restart of the different services, and we are doing everything possible to ensure once again an optimal service.

Now if they chance account PW all people that have gotten new email for forgot email PW, will really really have fun.

Ever tried to change your 'old' email address? I moved ISP and email address but couldn't change it on rightnow. Looks like a bit of a shambles developing.

When i bought this game i just wanted to try it 1 month so gave a stupid hotmail i made same day, not used it over a year. Not like u ever needed it coz GOA dont send u love mails and all u needed was u account PW which they say is u garanty thats u account.
NOW what GOA got hacked and we get fucked GIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE new game, coz i dont see how GOA can fix this and they probelly keep sending people that cant log in anymore a nice bill of 11 euros every month.

Sure iam gonna write goa: hi this is my account give new PW and i can prove it coz i have my account info and some stupid BOT is gonna answer me to log in on rightnow using my account PW.

the same thing happend to me. (kinda) well i lost my old subpass and my old email. and so i sent goa a mail, and im currently waiting for my sub pass via irl mail, (go goa :great: ) but since this happened i would have to ask a second time and i cant be arsed so BAH!

Um Zapzi, if u didnt added a mail adress u intendet to keep u have nothing to blame GOA for. why was it so bad to give ur "real" email to goa? or some mail adress u wasent gonna loose?

i mean..... im quite speachless..

all i can say is u have only u to blame if u cant change the email. adding a Hotmail that u wasent gonna keep anyway.........

ok changing sub and game PW isnt something u can expect. but comon.. sometimes they acually DO need to send u some pretty valid mails.. "like this one" :)

If goa would have stated that u needed the email for anything I would have keeped it, but all u needed was to remember u account PW. Aslong u have u account PW u can fix payment chance game password and look up that the billing was done right. No where if I remember it said u need the email as prove thats its u game. I could have changed email on account home page 10 times with account PW so where does this make it more safe ?.

never give ur subscription password to anyone&we cant change subscription password was what they made us believe in the last year and now we find out that email is only way to keep acc?TT

I must say I dont feel sorry for the people who use a "random/fake" email to gain a password and then gose by and "lose" it in one way of the other. Because the fact is that you are paying them money, so in case something gose wrong they might need to seed you an email or you might need to send them an email about a problem you have and need an email for it.

So why the devil would you go by and use seom random crap ??

Well all I can as its your Bad not thiers.

O have send them some emails have got answers aswell and I allways knew i could chance my email with my account PW if I ever needed that, just doing what GOA said. my account PW was my problem to keep safe and to prove its my account, nothing has ever been said about any email.
And as I said u can see anything u want about billing when u log in its all there. Dont need the email u gave them for anything aslong u never give u game password to anybody.
They should make it clear like other games do if that email was needed for anything.

After 1½ year u most prove its your account with an email when it allways was account PW which goa said could never be chanced.

im in a simlar situation as zap, except i just recently changed isps (as in 3 days ago), i tried to change my email addres.... but what did i see, an error message saying that this service was unvailable.

so i to thought, what could it hurt to leave it a few more days, no big deal, then this cr@p happens.

so whos fault is this ? is it mine, wait i couldn't change it due to the page not working, is it GOAs ? well i could blame them, but i wont, its those d"%n hackers!!!!

dont understand ppl here who says its players problem with email etc, but life loves to give lessons to those who think they are smarter then others and there can be billions of reasons u can lose ur email,like previous poster for example ,they never ever said email is here to prove that account belongs to u ,it was SUBSCRIPTION PASSWORD .
