Saw the trailer for this quite some time ago. Looking forwar to seeing it - old school werewolfism hopefully, none of this watered down emo crap being served up for teenagers these days.

Well, don't want to start anything big with it, but i prefer the neo-weres to the "ye old were".

Ofcourse Underworld being one of the best, it's rather slim pickings for that.

This, could be a great movie(will see it ofc), but it has to keep a good distance from brotherhood of the wolf, where the long yarn took over the movie and left the expected movie in the background.

IF this movie is centered on the wolf, more then the era and the speculation, i'll most likely give it a good word. If it's centered on hoitytoities in their apartment, talking tales and the wolf makes a quick appearance at the end of a 3 hour yarnfest, i won't :p

Best thing about this movie, for me, is its potential to surprise me.

Well... yeh :D

Werewolfery with all the trimmings, not theatre luvvies looking constipated where the most movement in a scene is the candlewax dripping.

This will look sexy in Bluray

And if anyone can catch him Mr Smith can, he can just use elf magic on him

Great, another trailer that shows far too much of the film's plot. Apart from that it does look interesting.

It has Benitio Del toro and Mr Smith, two of my favorite actors in it. Can't go wrong with that!

I read about this a while ago and am going to see it because it is proper old style SFX not CGI, and I love the claude rains (sp?) version, so am very excited about this

Blimey, that is one hell of a cast. Hope Johnston makes the most of them.

Colleague of mine said she thought it was very boring, she was constantly looking at her watch, and that she thought Hopkins was dreadful.

rofl!

anyway ...*ahem* on topic... I should imagine anyone who isn't a fan of the original, and if this one sticks to the original, may find it 'dull' but i love the old atmospheric creepmeister horror movies and thought the original of this movie was ace.

however, to the best of my knowledge i have given no one here (b2 aside) a bj so my opinion may not stand Oo

lol well i know what these bozo's are like, i'll say "i've never given anyone from fh a bj" and the next second some joker will post pictures and you tube footage of me off my face on slippery nipples and tequila shooters trying to demonstrate gravity doesnt apply during oral sex 10 years ago with a pair of batman boxers on my head.

I saw this film a week ago and i can't say i was overly impressed. They tried too hard with the setting, and the music was a copy of the Bram's Stoker's Dracula score. Anthony Hopkins was a bit uninspired, while the other actors did alright. I of course like Hugo Weaving a lot (see my avatar!) and he was brilliant again, imo. :p

On the whole though, it felt like there was a lot of little goodies all over, but the director failed to tie it together properly, and the ending was a bit meh as well. Why was it that only the girl could "save him with her love" when all she did was shoot him with a silver bullet??! Also, Anthony Hopkins lit all those candles awfully fast when Benito del Toro followed him down into the shrine-crypt. ;)

A weak 3 out of 5!

Great movie, proper old school werewolf effects (more eddie munster than actual 'wolfing') and some really great touches with nods to the original movie. I would recommend seeing it at the cinema over DVD though becasue you get more appreciation for the sets and things on the big screen.
