Now that looks *proper* old school werewolfery rather than comic-book Van Helsing style. A-List cast as well. I'll be keeping an eye out for that one.

Saw that trailer and my first impression was;

"I hope none of my usual movie buds want to see that..."

Second impression was;

"Yup, still looks like an absolute snoozefest with 15 minutes of wolfery."

I won't give it a third one, but will pass final judgement when i see it on dvd or some such media :D

Old school werewolfery (and general horror) isn't about machinegun-speed scene editing with constant schlock. All underlining is no underlining and most modern cinema is like this in their fever to deliver eyeball bursting graphics so they can climb to the top of the summer blockbuster heap.

Assumptions there. I'm not asking for a machine gun edited slugfest.

This simply seems like another movie where there's little of the wolf and more of the man.

I'd just prefer they'd make some modern day wolf story, or even olden days wolf story, where the point was more towards the lore from a wolf POV.

Like said, final judgement reserved, but not holding breath. Simply an opinion.

Not much of an assumption when you refer to it as likely being a "snoozefest with 15 minutes of wolfery".

Fair enough but wasn't in the first post.

I do, based on the trailer.

Like i said, more about the man then the wolf. The part you said wasn't in the original post is simply a variation and a clarification on that point.

We all know the lore, people who like werewolves know how shit goes down, yet (i'm assuming myself here that) they'll speculate and explain it in the movie once again.

I don't want to start a big ol argument about it as we can't know, it's simply on the other side from the "looks cool" spectrum.

Does it have the 3 wolf moon t-shirt? If so it's probably the best film in the world ever!

Oh its just some friendly Monday morning chat. On a Tuesday.

Good, good.

I think the biggest things that irk about it is the look and feel of Brotherhood of the Wolf, while not necessarily a bad thing, it had a bit of a problem with having a bit too much explaining. Nothing wrong in some psychological movie stuff, but sometimes it goes over the top and it shadows the main point, here namely the wolfman.

Other thing might be the era, while a classic for this kind of genre, it's a bit used. Over used if you will.
