People will ask, so here they are:

PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

For Windows XP

· 2.5 GHz P4 (single core) processor or equivalent
· 1 Gigabyte RAM
· A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
· At least 15 GB of hard drive space

For Windows VISTA

· 2.5 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
· 2 Gigabyte RAM
· A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
· At least 15 GB of hard drive space

Supported Video Cards

ATI Radeon(TM) series

· 9500, 9600, 9800
· X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
· X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950
· 2400, 2600, 2900,
· 3650, 3850, 3870
· 4850, 4870

NVIDIA GeForce series

· FX 5900, FX 5950
· 6600, 6800,
· 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950
· 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800
· 9400, 9500, 9600, 9800
· GTX 260, GTX 280

Intel(R) Extreme Graphics

· GMA X4500

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slowly. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.

Please note that attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn’t listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.

Also, before people will ask:

Dual Core 1.6-1.8+ Will run the game.
2GB-4GB RAM will be good (2gb+ for Vista)
Lastest Graphic Cards (List will be below, with source and a thanks) will work.
NONE 32bit only utilises 3.2GB Ram, 4GB will be used on 64x

BASIC LAPTOP NVID GPU SUPPORTED CARDS (Desktop cards several of which are mentioned above are fine. SOME older generation cards will work, not got specific models though):

Nvidia
7600: Not really sure but you can possibly run it on low to low-medium. Kinda iffy though.
7900: should run the game just fine, its a great cad and it should run teh game fine on medium-high, if not max.
8400: This CAN play the game on low, or low-medium. Hell this card plays HL2 and TF2 and many other games on medium-high settings, and those are much more demanding thant WAR. So if you have any form of this card, GS ot GT, you can play the game, but you will have to lower the settings to minimum or low, and set the resolutions lower.
8600: This will run the game fine on medium-high, maybe medium for RVR to keep up frame rates.
8700: (or overclocked 8600s to 8700 speeds) this game will run very well. max settings or relaly high.
8800: This will dominate WAR and will even let you play WoW in teh background at the same time. (you better not though)
9200: Might be a longshot. i doubt it can run, but you might get lucky and be abel to play it on th elowest settings.
9500M: Should be fine, its inbetween the 8600 and the 8700.
9600M: Should run it fine on high settings, maybe medium-high for RVR. otherwise maybe even max settings. depends on how you tweak the settings nad reoslution.
9700M (or overclocked 9600M ot same speeds): Should be able to play on max settings with a breeze.
9800: when it comes out, it will dominate WAR, sit on it, and make it its slave. No contest max settings everywhere.

haha!

Saw the 9700M in the bottom list runs flawlessly.
I got all excited then, but realised they were talking about Nvidia. Not Radeon!
xD

Bloody card names are so complicated. Can't they just make them like "Radeon 1, Radeon 2" etc. :p

So with:

Geforce 8800M 512mb
Windows Vista 64bit
Intel core 2 duo 9300T 2.5 GHz
4GB ram

I will be able to run at max right? :-s

Being a laptop card it doesn't seem to be as good as I thought, can't even run crysis :p

In previous beta phases we were told that debugging and analytic software was running in the background reducing performance. We were also only given the options of 'fastest framerate', 'balanced', and 'best performance'. I can tell you that running the following setup:
AMD 3800 x2 64, 4 gig pc3200 RAM, and a 8800GTX
The game was playable, but in any combat situation frame and stuttering appeared. Even on 'fastest framerate' zergs saw a huge dent in framerate.
I upgraded to q9450 (@3.2ghz), 8 gig 800mhz ram, and a gtx280. With this comp even the busiest zergs ran flawlessly with 16q AA and 16 AF forced through the control panel.
Keep in mind that the beta client wasn't as optimised as the release client will be and contained debugging software, so the performance would have increased a fair bit on my first rig.
Something to note is that I tested the game with my 8800gtx and the new cpu/ram and performance was fantastic - so my old AMD seemed to be bottlenecking the gfx card.

Yeah, i'm looking forward to it. There was a post floating around various forums implying the OB client will see some of these graphical options. Anyone know if theres truth in this?

Would a Radeon HD 2600Pro / 512MB handle this game decently enough coupled with:

2.66 P4
2Gb RAM
and said card above?

It'll happily run it, but unless things change, to max out all settings and have a decent framerate in RvR you'd need a pretty meaty machine - from what we saw in Cb anyway.

Since I can't edit:

PLEASE VISIT Can You RUN It? to check if you can run it before asking questions. As long as you pass everything, it will run.

@Derian: That card might support it, as it's in the same sort of range as mine (I use the 5500fx on here, and it can run most new RTSs, but on LOW) so you should be okay. But I'd suggest an update, as I need to aswell (for my desktop) if you want to make the game pretty :D

Yeah i checked the can you run it? website a few weeks back and it passed all the things needed in a card but not the card itself, so i thought why not buy a new 1. I just bought this: Play.com (UK) : Sapphire Radeon HD 2600Pro / 512MB / AGP / Graphics Card : Computing - Free Delivery

Thought it might do the trick.

Yeh like I said, my current desktop runs it and gets two bars above minimum I think, so not that bad!

Funny thing is my laptop card passed all the right criteria, just isn't supported so it failed my test!

Open Beta GFX

Open Beta will indeed have the full graphics enabled.
The minimum system requirements listed are not the whole truth however. I am assuming that you must tone down your graphics options for the massive battles to be playable... which is fine, because I was happy with the way Closed Beta looked and for me it didn't really need additional graphics.

On high for sure, but probably not very high. I believe that will require topnotch hardware in RvR battles.
Of course even with your setup you can use very high in solo play and small group play - no problem. You setup aint too shabby! But when there's 200-500 characters throwing skills and spells around I'm not sure what machine is required to draw that

Alright ;d thanks for the answer ;) don't expect this comp to run on very high but if it works with the high settings i'll be very glad for sure :d:cheers:

That's due to the behaviour of Directx10. In XP, while it works fine, the user will not be seeing all the benefits of DX10.. while in Vista they will.
Very minor things though.

Only games i have installed on my machine is: FF7, FF8, WAR and Half Life 2 so the only game i could test it out on was HL2 on max settings and it went like a dream. Fingers crossed it works on med settings with Warhammer hehe. The Can You RUN It? website says im almost at recommended so tis good. :D

Can anyone recommend an affordable, high-tier GFX card for PC? I'm currently running a 512mb Radeon X1650 Series and I think it may struggle a bit with WAR. Was wondering if anyone knows of anything in the market that would be the best purchase for me? Looking at between £50 and £100, on the lower side if possible, but I'm open to suggestions of a higher price if they're rather beastly and delicious. :) Thanks.

My mobo is indeed PCI. Thank you very much for the recommendation. :)

EDIT: I suppose I should mention I'm running 2GB of RAM, 4.4GHz Dual-Core processor (being 2.2GHz each) and Windows XP. I keep meaning to get another gig of RAM, so I'll probably do that at the same time as buying the new card.
