It's been 11 years since Parklife, so it would hardly be bandwagon jumping.

I quite like the track, but I've only heard it twice. Seems like the sort of thing that could get old quick, but respect is due to the Streets regardless, if only for attempting to be humorous.

I think it's ok but nothing amazing, at least they have their own style and don't suck up to any particular flavour of the month 'thing'.

I really like their first album and the new single but I feel that it will get old quite fast. I'm hoping the album is a little more broader in the...issues.

All the more reason to hate it :D

Actually, I'm completely indifferent to the streets. I enjoyed their first album, but haven't heard much of their latest single to be honest.

If I never heard them again I doubt I'd care that much.

Fun video, and it's original atleast. And like somebody said, maybe abit too english to work elsewhere. Last album got alot of airplay over here though. Have'nt listened much to radio lately so dont know if this one does.

The Video http://www.soundgenerator.com/news/index.cfm?articleid=3400

A breath of fresh air in a very old and stagnant market. Give anything with attitude and not music from assembled bands that ur grandparents would approve of. The music industry is crying out for something new, since dance music died 11years ago.

Yea Street level

It doesn't show. I mean, you never, ever, ever, ever make them do you?

Anyway the new Streets album is fantastic. Every track is sheer class, and make sure you pay attention to what he's saying. He has also managed to recreate almost the entire pill experience for me with one backing track (Blinded by the Lights). Just listen for the change when the pill Mike takes kicks in.

I trust you've given 'Weak become Heroes' a listen since indulging for the first time Bodhi?

I do make sweeping statements, most of them tongue n cheek though.

Thing is, altho I heard Weak Become Heroes before my first face-eating competition, I hung around with a lot of people who had already indulged. From what they had told me, I got Weak Become Heroes. However Blinded By the Lights is even more powerful imo - it captures the experience perfectly, from the beat change during the "Urrrh what is going on??!" part of the come up through to the "Urrrh I'm fucked and I don't care" stage perfectly.

I'm listening to the new album atm. He's just fixing the telly. It's a very happy part of the CD :)

Was never particularly interested in The Streets til someone loaned me the first album a month or two ago and now I get a second to go along with it! Excellent albums, different from the norm and some classic tracks in there, Blinded by the Lights, The Irony of it all, Dry Your Eyes.

It's certainly an acquired taste, hated the first listen of A grand don't come for free, completely different style from the first album.

I enjoyed the first album an awful lot. Not to keen on the second, but still pretty good and better than most of the shit out there.

Only one other album, Original Pirate Material, much better than AGDCFF imo.

Finally got A Grand Don't Come For Free and it's great. I love the rolling bass in Not Addicted, the soulful tune of Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way, and, obviously, Dry Your Eyes.

Sehr gut!
