The STR Question ???

Ive had my Hero evenly specced to his current RR and Ra,s are as follows:

Purge II <A must for any rvr tank/class>
Aug str II +12
Aug dex II +12
Mastery of blocking III
Mastery of pain II
And afew points scattered ... im RR5/4

Im gonna respec Ra,s for most damage output to :
Aug Str IV +36 Afaik
Mastery of blocking I < i already have 50+15 shield>
Mastery of pain II
Purge II
Avoidance of Magic II <afew of my magicals aint fully capped>

Main question is , at what point does str become useless for pure damage output ?
My hero is a celt and stands to go from 383 str buffed to 407 , will this make a major difference ?
And at what point does str not affect damage any more <hard-cap> etc and when does ONLY mastery of pain then increase damage ?

Im guessing if the str hard cap was below 400 no-one would bother rolling a Firb anything .

hardcap on str is 450 and it will continue to improve your dmg output until you hit that number, in general i think str3/4 and mop5 is the way to go for full dmg output though

also your weaponskill raises every 2 pts of str, you dont get any gain from 400 > 401 for example but you do from 401 > 402. might be nice to keep in mind when making a template - i put 100 str in instead of 101, and i end up with 409 str :( qq

I remember seeing tests on VN concerning 300-450str and Im fairly certain the benefit was almost steady all the way. I'll see if I can find it again.
