Comments seem to say he sounds like Damon Hill, anyone got an idea?

When asked directly by Clarkson if he was the Stig, Hill evaded the question and did not provide an outright denial or confirmation.[12] Mark Webber was interviewed on July 31, 2005 and at the conclusion of his lap Clarkson presented him with an "I AM THE STIG" T-shirt. Webber was then warned not to wear it around the F1 paddock, as "Michael doesn't always wear red".

There was a rumour flying around a while ago that it was an ex-F1 driver

In the first series it was an ex-F1 driver called Perry McCarthy, who was "killed off" at the end of the series, since then there have been several suggestions as to the identity of White Stig but chances are is that a number of different people have donned the blanched overalls under the same pseudonym.

There was an episode with the new (white) stig where he drove an renault F1 car around their track, which means it has to be someone with their F1 Superliscence. I don't think it's damon hill though, he's not tall enough.
