The Sniper
Lurking silently,
In a tower near the sky.
Peering down like a hawk,
At an enemy nearby.
Camouflaged by darkness
He silently waits,
Like a tiger stalking its prey,
There’s no room for mistakes.
A Rifle in his hands
And grenades secured tightly to his belt,
A bullet pierces his skin,
And immediate pain is felt.
He falls to the ground
Not wanting to stand up.
Though it’s so painful,
He must not give up.
Rising to his feet,
He peeks through his scope.
Enemy spotted!
And he is overwhelmed with hope.
Firing a rounds
Again and again,
They whiz through the air
Narrowly missing the footman.
The enemy in motion
And now out of sight,
The sniper activates his night vision
In the dark, starry night.
A blast fired from afar
And the enemy spotted again,
The sniper chambers another bullet
And fires at the Frenchman.
The cry could be heard
From a mile away
The enemy scrambles behind a crate
As if performing ballet.
A grenade is thrown
Towards the perimeter of the crate
A deafening explosion is heard;
A successful cremate.
