The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is foretold in the bible (and various films like the Omen ) and can/will happen anytime without warning. One of the pointers that many religious leader's use to try and predict this End Time occuring is the lead up to it - war, famine, natural disasters etc. If you read Revelations in the New Testament it is pretty scarey stuff.

Many people believe that we are in the final seconds (in comparative terms) of mans' existence as we are on this planet and that the final battle between Christ and satan is merely round the corner. It would be at the pinnacle of satan's grip on this earth (which, let's face it is pretty strong considering most of the shit that goes on in this world) and JC will have a pretty tough time.

We all know who wins in the end but it won't be easy sailing.

Yeah, really creepy stuff. Given Im not a Christian its amazing how indoctrinated I was as a child. I blame my parents wanting a Sunday morning shag so sending me to Sunday school to colour in Jesus. I think our current wars are just more of the same old same old. Its just with TV it seems worse. Imagine the reports that we would have seen during the Roman Empire, The Spanish inquisition (Nobody mentions that anymore) etc.

As the western world slowley becomes more civilised many of us choose to throw away our religon and look at the world from a more retional point of view, and look possibly allegorically at programs like this.
Unfortunately the rest of the world isnt always so "advanced", and thus as we all throw off the shackles of christianity we'll have shiny new Moslem ones fitted if we aint careful.
