The Rebellion is dead

The imperials have officially won the war, ive spent a whole day travelling the planets trying to find a high rebel population and never found one, there was at least 2 declared imperials at every starport i visited. I also found dozens of imperial/neutral player cities but not one single rebel city (apart from one in naboo which im not completely sure about).

I think you can say the only place where you find rebels is at AH, which gets whooped by a couple of Master TKA/Master Doc/Master CH/Master Commando guys every few hours and then they just hang around the city until they get bored.

The main thing is more and more rebels are quitting and either going neutral or try and grind their way to imperial, ive watched the population of rebels in AH slowly decrease and i think you can say that maybe in the next year there will only be a couple of dozen left :p Ive also watched the imperial population rapidly increase and i mean rapid, theres alway at least 3 groups of imperials (a few declared) who go around the Bestine-AH area now, doing kill missions and killing any Rebel they see.

Yes, there maybe still the odd rebel attack on bestine but they always get whooped by a bunch of buffed master profession imperials.

Anyway i thought i might aswell make sure everyone knows this and to make sure that anyone who is going to join rebel know what they are going to face. Theres never going to be any good PvP and you would be EXTREMELY lucky if you got a krayt dragon group as a rebel because most of the raids are lead by guilds and i dont think any rebel guild (if there are any) ever get organised enough to do things like that.

Funnily enough, on the US servers the Rebels generally have higher populations.

Do you think it's any coincidence that in the movies all the imps speak with british accents?

I have seen this sort of thing in other games too.
DAOC, WWIIOnline, PlanetSide etc.

I doubt the British accent has anything to do with it as I think majority of Euro players are not from UK anyway.

Does it matter though?

I mean, on the US servers nobody PvP's at all any more, not since decay on death was introduced.

Are people still PvP'ing on the Euro servers?

This sounds like Imperial propaganda too me, I mean after the Battle of Yavin they know that the Rebellion runs deep on each of the thousands or planets in the empire.

... What? A game? what are you talking about this is no game, this is rebellion that has obviously been crushed!

:p

To be honest, PvP will need some tweaking as the game goes on, the problem is that whatever fix they do for the US servers may only make the situation worse here, due to our reversed pop balance.

The other thing is I don't actually think there are that many fewer rebs, they've moved into their player run cities like Sunfall and Mos Echo and due to the larger numbers of really dangerous high level chars they are behaving more like true freedom fighters and keeping a low profile.

wow i dont know what to say...
First of all.. krayt dragon hunt or whatever.. do it with guild. im sure there must be rebel guild about.
why? simple.. you know what you got to eachother saves a lot of frustration and a lot of the times those random groups are just.. well very bugger.

2nd.. why is everyone joining the imperials..? you may ask yourself.. I have no idea but pvp is dead if its the situation as you describe ( for as for it wasnt already)

and all the people that going to swap to imp just because reb is declared dead have to think about doing that really good.. because by doing what everyone else is doing apparantly you only destroy the balance ( for whats left of it) even more. You can choose the easy way out.. get some imp faction and join imp and get yourself an at st camp anchorhead and go kill some newbie tef' ed rebels all day.

or do it the hard way and stay rebel and get some real challenge.

i'd stay rebel in this situation.. but just my personal opinion.
there is not much at stake ( its just a game) so you can take risks all you want.

and finally i hope the patch with 300+k ham on krayts going to happen soon :) .. its so easy to kill them now with at st and mind bleed the git in oblivion.. and i hope they improve ai a bit... like in daoc getting aggro rules and so :)

same goes for dark jedi masters and all other big tough monsters.

The same patch that gives the Krayt 300k HAM also makes faction pets unusable outside of the GCW.

being a covert rebel i walk through bestine and see alot of covert rebels amongst the crowds.....just becuase you can't see them doesn't mean they arn't there...watching...waiting......when the WD40 for the AT-ST's runs out you'll be sorry!

:p

Seriously tho, there are alot more rebels that you would expect, most just don't travel overt as it seems most imperials have a AT in there pocket and whip it out.

But then the Rebellion didn't seek out the Empire in the films [ok except ROTJ on endor] the empire came to them where they were hiding.

On the 'lesser traveled' planets there seem to be more rebels, Dantooine Dathomir Yavin etc...all seem to have more Purple dots than blue dots on my radar there.

Actually the other big factor that no one has yet mentioned is the influx of character transfers we will eventually get on the new servers - we can assume that these will be predominantly rebels and pretty experienced ones at that!

Long live the war!

Adz- you are illusinating, there is hardly anymore rebels than imperials in most towns

Galewyr- yes there are a decent few rebels but then in rebel cities theres almost always more covert imperials watching... waiting and etc... then everywhere you go there are declared imperials even in AH but they tend to leave after sitting for hours waiting for a rebel to declare. The main thing is rebels have hardly any master classes compared to imperials (dont want the imperials naming the 6/7 masters we have and moan about them when i say this) but hopefully things will all turn out for the best when the character transfer starts (that is unless everyone loves imps so much and are all imp on that too)

Rynnor- thx, i never thought about that :) hopefully rebel numbers will increase then :)

Tenko- How the hell are CH people ever gonna lvl then without PvE!? i heard about ST's being taking out of PvE but not Pets :p

Also, another little word, next patch CH max level of pet will not be focused in 2 lines which is great :) means no more Master TKA/Master Doctor being able to have 3-2-0-0 and having a mauler :p

oh yeah...

by the way i finally got a guild with some friends i used to always level with since i started :) its great, we can go to Dragon city now and easily farm dragons (as long as we have a mauler) but the only problem is that sometimes the place is crawling with AT-ST's and they generally go and kill anything they see and steal dragons.

There we're actually more rebels in bestine at one point yesterday....

The number of rebels will easily out number the imperials, any new players will sod off to rebels straight away and the imperials will only have the numbers that they got in the first month or so. Bound to happen.

Just isn't true. The PvP on Chilastra is still going strong.

Only been playing for a month on Farstar server and I think the reason why the rebels do not declare is that the Imperials that are declared can often pull out a AT-ST and kill off just about any player that is a rebel.

To me something like the AT-ST should never be allowed as a player controlled pet for PvP nor should it be in for PvE as they are to powerful.

The factions are not balanced mainly due to this huge advantage of fire power that the imperials can muster up.

I have seen 10 rebels in AH on Tatooine shoot at one of these and 2 dewbacks attack it also. They all died and the AT-ST and owner still had full health bars left.

The rebels need a pet type that can match this kind of thing before you see any real pvp.

just my own thoughts on this matter.

They should not be balanced at all.
Its Empive vs. Rebels.

As in huge army vs. separatists and terrorists.

well olgark if they did then it would be even further from the film, as if CHs wernt enough.

well i just started a interim char on chimaera and im pretty suprised to see that 2 or 3 overt imps may walk freely in AH kill 1 or 2 rebels and walk out like nothing happened. and the rebels around didnt even do a thing.. ( ok I guess they were mostly covert) but they might had helped those overt ones a bit.

It's picked up a bit on Eclipse last few days too. I think the initial shock of having your armour decay twice when fighting (damage taken when fighting then decay on death... double tax) put a lot of people off but it seems a lot are now just pvp'ing in their boxer shorts Oo

Actually my view has changed about this whole situation (but still would prefer the ratio of rebel to imperial to improve a bit maybe to 1:3). I am actually starting to enjoy this now that i moved back to coronet, now i think all rebels should be covert most of the time and get a guild to only go overt for raids. Im still pissed off that overt rebels cant walk freely yet in AH mainly because of all the master imperials that raid the place every few hours.
