The problem with leveling

Is it possible to get an alt to 50 these days without using a bot for PL?

I play alb/pry and then problem there, is that all the old xp spots are usually deserted, so the only option if you want xp is either to solo (which will make getting 50 a very boring and slow task)
or getting a PL bot (which isnt very fun either, when you only have one account)

It seems to me that this is also the case with hib/exc, it's somewhat easy to get to lvl 24 but after that, it's mostly just deserted spots or PL bots?

Am I mistaken? Or is it really possible to find groups these days and get an alt to lvl 40+ without having to solo?

Welcome to the world of rogues - killing mobs solo over and over again. Nah seriously it's pretty easy to get a good group together I bet. Just don't hope for uber groups with 1 spot left for you.

That is kinda hard, when you can't find anyone who's lfg.

You just had bad luck, there is no way I believe you can't find anyone at your level that is lfg. Just use /who and ask everyone.

Its possible, but not as easy as it used to be.

Corus mines used to be a great place to exp from 30-40, but now sadly every spot is camped, usualy by a level 50 and their bot / alt.

Things like DF, Marfach, SI all serve to distribute the population around. When Innis Carthag was the only place that people met for groups 40+ it was a thriving town, these days getting a group together there is more pain than its ever been.

HoF Alliance use our /as to make exp groups, its really the most practical way of forming parties these days given the inadeqacies of the ingame chat and messaging systems.

If your not in a pve friendly guild, and dont have a bot or high level friends it must be very hard...

Thing I've experienced on pryd (thankfully not on exc, yet) is that when you finally get a group it's with people who dont really know much about xp'ing or their class.
Like a paladin on pryd who didn't use chants, didnt know what taunt was and didn't get aggro of casters/healers.
But like I said, I don't know if this also happens alot on exc, but on prydwen this has been even worse than soloing bluecons

Did with my chanter, but sadly it wasn't fast and 2-3 bad episodes tend to but you in a bit of pessimistic state.
So I just wanted to find out if it was just me or if it really IS the case with lowbie xp'ing.

best way to lvl up to 35 is to go to cm pit... find a cash farmer and join them and go afk...

when u get to 35.. struggle on to 37 and hit Innis for azzure grps to take you to 42.. then fins all the way really...

Never really encoutered completely clueless players. Most tanks know to taunt, and mages to nuke etc. They often needs some slapping around to peform well (buff this char not that one, rest mana at 50%, please sort out /guard, /protect, /intecept, make tank order ffs etc).

For me the worst problems with hib exp groups are :-

a). Not enough thought or time gone into group makeup. So often I end up in a group with one of the 3 tanks being inadequate (BM/Ranger/NS 3 levels under), or main nuker under level and just OOM the whole time (but hey hes mana spec, just cause hes not hitting the purples con mobs cant be his fault...).

b). Main problem is quitters. Spend 30 mins exping and the warden pisses of to join the fins list. Then the bard decides he cant be arsed to wait for a new warden and can go find a better group and leaves. Then you got a pile of tanks and no healing..., sucks when you spent 20 mins putting the group together and will take another 20 to get going again.

Usally pbaoe for Alb or Mid,

And pet focus leveling in Hibernia

Coz no one ever looks at it, spent several days with my flag on in the past and no groups looking, or no offers coming from it.

Go to the prime grouping locations to find a group.

Parth Farm
Sprag
Muir Tomb
Siab Ring
Innis (although innis sux)
CM
DF (if we ever have it again )
Basar Pooks

Or wander around the prime xp spots, hopefully there will be a group with a free slot, or looking for a character of your class.

There are many ways to xping and get nice xps.....

1. Form an xp grp urself (as already metioned here ) ....2 ways to do that...

a). Try to form a grp when u r online into the game...if this is lil impossible for u...try the other way....

b). Its a new tactic to form a grp through the BWs
....just make a thread for what classes u r looking for and i am sure u will get replies....

2. Solo.....u need proper solo class for this...and if the ordinary spots r camped...use SI zones....many spots there for all lvls...u just need to work it out a lil bit i think.......

3. Guild....find a good guild in which u can find easy xp grp anytime u r log in.....or most of the times.....

Bs imo i made my 1st hib char 1-50 in 2 weeks, /play around 7 days at 50 , and unguilded w/o plvl etc. Just put some work in forming your grps. Aint hard.

Took me /play 35 days + to get my Druid to 50, in about 3 to 4 months real time. Think i was still doing parths at lvl 23.

Ahhh the good old days.

Which bit is bs? That its not as easy as it used to be? Tell me why, I think a lot would agree with me.

That its hard to get to 50 with no friends? Play a ns, ranger, void eld to 50 and come back and tell me your /played and how easy it is to make groups in hib ...

40+ days for my ranger to hit 50

If i could do it all again, i wouldnt change a thing either.
