I always found it a bit funny how english people call jaffas cakes(yes i know it was in court even, makes it MORE funny not less ) and how small and pathetic things they call a pie.

Fucker! =< Apple/Glazing and stuff inside (Custard? iirc) - That's like my favourite dessert on the planet. Parent went to Belgium a few days ago (Car) brought that back for me, but left it in the car Her friend drove back to Birmingham

In finland usually the custard is made separete and the inside is this fluffy, applebits stuff. Same stuff that the whole thing is made off. Just ofcourse the outside is harder due to baking it.

Basicly it's a through and through pie, with no gooey middle. Not your "pie" pie, but the best one around still

Real apples used on top and with a glacing(usualoy cinnamon).

Apple pie ofc counts and size count in pies at least. Though the mince pies thing is compensated for the fact that you end up eating about twenty of the buggers over christmas anyway

Pfft, you call that a pie? The Denby Dale Millenium pie is in the Guinness book of records. It was a meat and potato pie that weighed 12 tonnes and measured 40 ft (13 metres) across! Now thats a proper pie!

The pie has been around since about 2000 B.C., around the time of the ancient Egyptians. At some point between 1400 B.C. (the time of Greek settlements) and 600 B.C. (the time of the decline of Egypt), the pie is believed to have been passed on to the Greeks by the Egyptians.

From Greece the pie spread to Rome, somewhere around 100 B.C. by which time pies had already been around for some 1000 years. The first known pie recipe came from the Romans and was for a rye-crusted goat cheese and honey pie.

Apple pie is old as time itself in finland so i dare say we invented that before you did
