So I am making a thread for optimistic views only!

I am a Diabetic and although thats not as bad as Alzeimer's or some disease that makes your face turn into a big growth, its still people laughing at other's misfortunes.

I'm 3/4 greek cypriot and never ever get racial abuse, however when i see someone being racist towards a pakistani or indian person, i know that under different circumstances it could be me getting the abuse.

I know there is no racism in this thread, however laughing at people in wheel chairs is wrong imo. As you know Tohtori, if you dont pay attention to your diabetes you could end up losing your feet/legs. So it's hardly a laughing matter imo.

Yeah Bahu, i know, i've been a diabetic for the past 22 years. And like i said, it's people who tiptoe around it that are more annoying. This thread offends me 0%.

More think of it as a positive thing, people seeing upsides in peoples "misfortunes" and that's the way disabilities and illnesses should be thought about.

Being rasict and making paki jokes(or even black jokes) is a whole different ballpark. Jokes are jokes, and as long as people are ready to say the same jokes to the people who the jokes are about, it's a 100% cool. It's also people who think "No you can't make jokes about me!" that is silly. They make a million more jokes about normal people.

People can laugh at things, it doesn't mean their pointing fingers and going "ooh you got a thingy!"

this thread probably will get locked, which would be a crying shame, since it's just taking things back a few steps. If we can make jokes all the time about any subject, then we are moving towards a world where everything is normal.

Sorry you disagree or find it offensive, but to be honest I don't really care...people find different things offensive and if I cared about my opinions or jokes offending someone I would never talk or post or anything becasue everyone is offended by something.

I am sorry that you can't join in the fun with us due to personal feelings but it wont stop me finding it funny or change my opinion about starting this thread.

I do understand your point on this, but I still dont like seeing jokes made about people's illnesses. They are not spiteful, but they're still mocking.

I have a friend who was making similar types of jokes, he did not mean it in a nasty way, but it really annoyed me. He said something along the lines of "Oh i wish i could go into a coma for a few months" <some dumbass reason why>, then something about Diabetics having it lucky as they can self cause this.

Maybe i'm a worry monger, but i cant see the funny side of serious illnesses purely because they're usually something that can randomly happen to a person. I dont live in fear and Never eat this weeks most Cancer Causing Foods, but i try and be a little respectful.
