Not standing up to take a pen, he looked like a school boy, it was time for him to step up and he bailed. What?

Was it the managers decision though? after what happened with Nani I'm not so sure... looks like he saved himself for the 5th penalty to get the glory and failed.erm.... he was picked to go 5th. You know by those that decide, the managers.

He wasn't exactly great this match either, shame my bet on him being top scorer is screwed now

You are fucking dumb, the 5th penalty is usually the pressure one and if he took it upon himself to go for it then good on him. He was 5th but regardless you cannot call him a bottler or anything else purely because he was taking one. Now how about you take that shit you said back instead of looking for another angle to attack him from??
Huge risk deciding to take the 5th pen vs Spain, along with putting so many defenders in front on your self
Yay for personal insults. You are fucking dumb, the 5th penalty is usually the pressure one and if he took it upon himself to go for it then good on him. The manager and the rest of the team normally discuss it.. just in case a player doesn't feel like he can't take a penalty... I doubt the manager made the decision to put Ronaldo 5th to take a penalty on purpose, if he did then he should be sacked right now.Yes because Ronaldo wrote the penalty list and decided who should go ahead of him.
Facepalm is not enough for the idiots in this thread.
I don't understand why you'd take a CB who has just played two hours of football and isn't a known goalscorer to take such an important penalty. Portugal had two fresh men off the bench in the extra time, one who had already scored against Denmark and had the confidence to score another I'm sure. Bruno Alves was the wrong choice. But I agree with Keitanz, for ONCE, that Cristiano should have stepped up and put it in earlier rather than being fifth

Erm? He was put down for the 5th and that's arguably the toughest penalty to take. Not standing up to take a pen, he looked like a school boy, it was time for him to step up and he bailed.
In the final. Just saying.
