Hate the office ... with a passion.

Ricky Gervais doing his own stand up though is bloody genius. Miles ahead of any of the sitcom type stuff he's done in the past.

Love the UK version of The Office.
Gervaises character and the way he plays him can literally make me cringe :worthy:

Dunno really, Gervais is one of those "like and dislike" guys.

Sometimes he's funny, sometimes boring as buck.

But, considering the setting of Office, might actually like it.

I really liked him in extras and all his stand-up is great. The office I think is ok in small doses. Too much of it makes me just want to hit him and I'm sure comedys not meant to make you angry.

I think a lot of people just don't get the Office. Its something you either get or you don't.

Haven't seen the original(?) brit office, but i liked the US one in a similar fashion that i like peep show.

It's good. Massively over-rated but still good. I'd take more convential comedy over it 9 times out of 10 though.

I think most get it (not *that* complex) but I simply think the more slow and immensely "embarrassing" form of humor makes people cringe and get physical ill - so they just can't stand it :D

Didn't care much for The Extras though - was fun at times, but mostly I found it more trivial then The Office. But then again - I've only seen season one.

I'll take it or leave it really. I saw a few episodes which I laughed at, but I'd never plan to watch "the next episode", only if there was nothing else on.

This thread should die and go into the archives

Good idea. Send it to Room 101. It can meet your personality, academic achievements, and attractive ex-girlfriends there

I wouldn't go so far as to call him a living legend...

Any bloke who sings 'i love little girls' on tv and gets away with it is a living legend.
