On the subject of car ad's, we've just had the 30th customer come in and ask for Lucky Star the film with Benecio Del Toro.

From the inside (an industry group I am a member of)

Dear Illuminati,
Is anybody involved in the Honda COG commercial?
This "domino" ad for the new Accord was shot in
one on the 651'st take. Quite exquisite!
Was the sound original or concocted ?
The R2 promo on BBC1 for Paul Mcartney is excellent
too!
REL.

It wasn't CGI. Which is bloody impressive.

As Tom says it wasn't CGI, Honda replied in Auto Express this week :)

The car at the end looked fake. I bet they made that part up. Oh and the floor was blatantly CGI...

What about the bit with the electric window? The thing starts rolling imedately at the same speed it was going before. It's deffinately faked

"There's virtually no computer trickery!"

Whatever. It's still impressive.

It wasn't fake - twas in the paper today. It took over 600 takes to get it right and the crew had to tiptoe around the set for fear of setting off any particular part of it.

Boring ad tbh though. Although it is clever.

I find myself considering this ad carefully, I heard reports it 600 odd takes over only 3 days. If that's so (and I think it could be wrong), then where did they find the time!

The 3 day thing must be a mis quote

they most likey had seperate teams doing different parts at the same time, all adding up to 600 takes.

Click me. :)
The wheels rolling uphill were weighted on one side in order to make them roll like that. Also the window rolling down for the tube to roll through, there is a slope a few inches on the left side of the window(Check the advert on tv or find yourself a better quality version to confirm) for the tube to get its momentum again, that was one of the trickiest parts of the whole domino effect iirc, it runs over metal strips to complete the circuit and balances just long enough for the window to roll down.

If memory serves :)

iirc can also mean If I Recall Correctly, iirc, just to add mud to the water whilst we're imitating Government Officials.
