Watched it in the cinema and it was a good movie and as for the ending it certainly beats all the usual way that stories always seem to end up. Worth watching and has its moments. The religious nutter is quite funny even though she is totally disturbed.
I haven't seen the film (yet) but I read the short story in the very first Stephen King book i ever read! Damn it was creepy! Mind you.. there were some other even more disturbing stories in that book. The one about the granny who ate her grandchild.. and the "thing" in the lake with the kids on the raft.. damn good stuff.
So anyway.. I'm definately going to see this film! It's 20+ years since i read the story but i remember it well!
Really, don't see the mist unless you got the stomach for it! it keeps getting worse and worse and worse, and just when you think it won't and can't get any worse, it does.
Really..... 90% of it was easy standard to take, but the last 10% was the first time a movie really felt like Stephen King to me....
Talking of mist, don't go to Coventry - "a dismal city of car parks, ring roads, and windswept shopping precincts", according to one tourist guide from Down Under. If perhaps some German visitors had missed it in 1940 it might be slightly more scenic.
