Sorry to hear what happened and I hope you get it sorted out.

God this liberal, permissive society is rotten to the core. Good people living in fear and having their property damaged by hoodlums while the police do fuck all about it. It pisses me off. If we had proper deterrents in place to prevent people commiting these sort of acts maybe there would be less crime around. Its all to do with moddycoddled liberalism where our judiciary has replaced punishment with rehabilitation, treating criminals like they're the real victims of a capitalist society. What rubbish.

What we need to do is go back to good old fashioned laws and bring back discipline into schools, homes and our courts. Bring back corporal punishment and whack the little darlings across the bare buttocks in school assembly. bring back boot camps for persistant opffenders where they'll learn some manners and respect. Thatll teach 'em! Throw thieves, muggers and other scumbags into prison (and I don't mean the holiday camps they're used to know, I mean 4 x 4 concrete cells and fed on bread and dripping).

Sorry I've gone into one. It just makes me mad that's all.

We've wasted 2 hours of our life sorting out a replacement lock for the garage door and we're several quid lighter.

I've fitted a secondary padlock to the top of the garage door that's fixed to the frame but tbh it's more of a visual detterent than a physical one. If someone's determined enough they'll get into anywhere.

On the up-side it seems they knackered the handle so much that they weren't able to get the door open so nothing was taken, though quite what they'd want with a couple of knackered bikes and a used lawnmower beats the hell out of me.

It got me thinking about rigging some elaborate light and alarm system to the garage but then I thought....why the hell should I have to spend a shit load of time and money on the off chance that some thug decides he wants to see what's in my garage? It makes me so mad.

Oh and the icing on the cake is that our upstairs neighbour knew about the garages being broken into days ago yet never bothered to tell us. Gee thanks.

The only trouble is about causing too big of a stir about it is we want to move in the not too distant future and by law you have to tell the new occupiers all about when and why you've called the police. It could put potential buyers off if too much is on record. While I think this sucks if you're trying to off load a house in a shite area, I definitely know I'd like to be told if there's regular break-ins etc in the area.

Just wire the garage door up to the house mains m8, that should give them a nasty shock (punn intended ). Things like this really wind me up! had my car broken into a few weeks ago, they didn't take anything they just wrecked my passenger door ffs whats the point grr.

Wiring mains to the door handle would kill somebody, as they would not be able to release their grip.

Its illegal for that reason. If the shed was on fire and a fireman tried to open the door, you wouldn't want the fireman to get hurt would you?

Swapping a bit of aggro for a manslaughter charge isn't really worth it.
