Well it's better than half of the stuff on telly but for a Linehan comedy it's fairly average. The new Saxondale was good and I was amazed to see the tall guy from We Are Klang in it! Apart from Mock the Week and TV Heaven, Telly Hell there isn't really alot of good comedy about anymore, but Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive on Radio 4 is always worth a listen (6:30pm on a Friday...in about 10 minutes!)

shurrup foo. there's a vast difference. myself, I *shock* agree with brooky. however, in my case my company has several departments which *are* the IT crowd. luckily, I only have to deal with the less-monobrow'd of idiots.
sorry all IT persons, but, *newsflash*, the rabid ITesque "did you plug it in" "linux > *" "windows luser" "I never wash" person is a thing of the past / confined to one per department. That TdC never has to talk to. And TdC is a unix nerd. Who runs big servers. Really big ones. Not kidding. Thanks!
having said that, someone actually had me in the server bunker today, swearing, because some moron "accidentally" turned off half of one of our sunfire 25k servers' power supplies. I mean, come on, that takes a special kind of stupidity

I actually did something similar when I was at work experience before I had fully realised that touching things in datacentres/computer rooms is a big no no unless someone is telling you to
There were all these nice big black cubes on the floor (sun database servers of yore, 8 years ago now) with intriguing keys in them - how could I resist but give one of them a turn!!! As you will of course all know, servers like that have keys for power on buttons rather than to just lock the case Sadly, I didnt at the time.

When this started last year/the year before last I thought cool, its written by the guy who did Black Books/Father Ted so it's going to be a laugh, I only manged it through the first episode becuase I was too pissed to find the remote control.
It was just the same old "IT" jokes repeated over and over again such as brooky says "have you turned it off and on again" or just leaving the phone to ring and ring.

Was actually going to say the same sort of thing, WPK. It was alright, but it wasn't as funny as some of the first series. (But then, S1E1 wasn't that great either)
TBH, it's not even that the show `sucks` it's that it's better than most of C4s lineup currently :]

ah, me, it happens to everyone though: last time something daft happened to me, I accidentally powered off half a rack of servers because I'd caught an UTP cable on the rack's AC0 power supply and gave it a sharp tug o0 that was a d'OH! moment I kid you not. nearly shat myself too when the rack's output noise suddenly cut off by about 50%:/
