Running Man is ace fun but Battle Royale is definitely a far superior film. :)

Watch Battle Royale then! :)
I have :) And No.2 ^^ It's probably one of the reasons I was so underwhelmed by this movie - the action has been done 10x better and with 100x more imagination. All we had were a lot of arrows, some bees, some berries and a few grumpy pigs.

Running Man has a special place in the Pantheon of Awful that also makes it wonderful.
QFT. :D

Interesting choice of "errors":

Big Brother states don't have to look like Airstrip One. There's a pretty valid argument that you're living in a Big Brother state that "doesn't seem that bad" right now. Other "Big Brother" states that don't look bad would include Brave New World, if, you're fortunate enough to be born an Alpha.

Easily. The Pilgrim fathers nearly starved to death in their first year in America and they were surrounded by forest. If you don't know what to look for, a forest may as well be a desert. Why do you think one of the first thing primitive societies did was clear forest for crops?

Very true, but my point is *I* think the movie failed to portray these issues convincingly, which why I was so underwhelmed and unconvinced by the problems they were facing. And given that the girl is the Green Arrow and knows all about berries for some reason, I don't believe they didn't know what they were doing - unless she forgot to tell everyone else.

I'm guessing the hunger issues were all tied into the Rebellion, fallout and Big Brother punishing the disloyal colonies and using starvation as a means of control so that the poor stay forever poor and the rich get fatter and have ever greater opportunities for silly hair and wearing gold eye-liner, but again I don't think they really conveyed that very well - despite all the dragging points in the film.

And seriously, why are we still using shakey cam ? :X3: Probable answer: It disguises dull action sequences and makes them look more "exciting".

Hehe :D

Tbh, what put me off John Carter was the awful looking CGI in their trailers and posters.. I don't know how they let that in :/
