The first one didn't appeal to me. So this one certainly won't. Quite happy to go the rest of my life and not see these two "movies".

Aye the first one was fucking terrible, target audience: pre-pubescent boy.

tbh modern horror films just dont do it for me its all just extream blood soaked crap, i liked the classics like freddy, jason, michael.. john paul george and ringo... hang on that was a different horror.

seriously though i just dont have the slightest urge to watch these i think the most up to date horror i watched was wolf creek (possible SAW 1 or the grudge i dont know what was out first) and aside from SAW i was really disappointed in all of em, saw was great though because of the "wtf would i do in that situation??" aspect though i hear saw 2 and 3 totally ditched that and went for gore fest.

i miss folk dodging caving knives then getting pwned by a fishing spear, large breasted gals being chased through a graveyard at midnight, tripping over a blade of grass and their skirt falling off then killing the bad guy 9 times and his body isnt there when the police come, thats real horror that is.

I saw like 20% of the first movie, and I just hated it. So god damn much torture and just sick things. Cant believe some people really likes to watch it :( I really cant do. I like Tarantino but why the hell did he make Hostel 1 & 2  And I agree with Ez, SAW 1 was the only horrormovie I actually to some level was glad I saw, the rest is just a wasted time for me :)

Eli Roth directed it, not Tarantino. I think Tarantino just gave advice to Roth with regards to some aspects of the direction.

There's only so much schlock & gore one can put into a movie. A one off - like Hostel - can be put down to "innovative art" and classified as an extreme art house movie for the eclectic or discerning splatter fan.

Now they're following up with a sequel, any such pretentions are dispersed. Now its just about the bucks, and I bet its gonna be a pretty awful movie.

Why did they have to go and remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre ? Classic example.

i thought the hitcher was a decent movie...

but with hostel... i thinkone of the scary things is... there ARE probably people in this world who WOULD pay to do the sick things in the movie if they think they could get away with it.
