say you do £2 each way at 10/1 it would be £1 to win and if the horse wins you get £11 (£10 + £1 stake) and the other pound bets the horse will come 2nd 3rd or 4th and if it does you get 1/4 of the odds so you'd get £2.50 + £1 stake if it didnt win but still came top 4


it's kind of like an insurence
