What happened to James Cameron (apart from a load of other blockbuster films that he uses to fund his more interesting work?)
I don't begrudge his fucking about in the deep sea or whatever...but he stopped making good films quite some time ago.

Avatar are technical masterpieces.

They're not the most thrilling movies but I'd not call them bad. Just.. Mid.

I think the Avatar movies - he's more talking about ecology. He's trying to get people to think about ecosystems and human behaviour and is just wrapping it up in a nice action movie wrapper to bring people along.

I think he's playing a different game tbh.

Running Man was...worth a watch. It has lots of nods to the original, and it has a kind of retro-futurist look to it which is very well done. No opera-singing fat eunuchs in electric cars though; political correctness gone mad.
