isn't te nForce 3 a single chip jobby?
and only for the 64bit CPUs?

aye, but pretty spiffy tho, I like the HW-acel FW, seems nvidia lets 3rd partys write their firewalls to make use of it, wish more nics would have that, and support linux ofc :)

Got any links to the tech behind "hardware accellerated firewall"?

It's not like packet filtering is particularly cpu intensive anyway, but it does sound interesting. Plus I have an nforce3 board for my A64 3400. I've only enabled the Gbit realtek on board NIC, though, not the nforce MCP jobby.

Ive just topped out on my nforce2..nowhere to go except rip everything out and start again. Im holding back now until this whole nforce3 and pci express/ sata support issues are sorted, never mind the new Athlon 64 sockets.

I hate these transition periods. I would have thought I would be used to it by now.

Actually, there are implementations of nForce3 250 which support dual 939pin cpus ;)
