An interesting theory, but now we're moving into the realms of nice guy vs bad boys.
Unfortunately for me I am a nice guy and therefore often get thrown aside for bad boys only for them to cheat on the girl and for her to go through the usual 'men are bastards' routine.

I genuinely think sometimes that women aren't happy unless they've got a man to complain about. Perhaps they plan meetings with friends and try to outdo each other with stories of how the boyfriend they chose treats them like shit. First one to end up with an std or in hospital from domestic abuse wins as long as they add the line 'But I still love him' afterwards.

Sometimes though (and i'm not saying you're like this ), blokes who put themselves in the "nice guy" category can come across desperate, needy and trying too hard which is everything women don't want.

A lot of women go through the edgy bad boy stage, but it's immature and I see it common place amongst younger women. My missus told me that women harbour the desire to meet the right guy and to stick with them; a nice boyfriend. She says (she had her bad boy phase) a lot of these "bad boys" initially come across as charming, all smiles and cute; but she soon realised that the same charm and smiles were dealt to many women. Soon the games start, the secret texting of other girls begin, there may be cheating, but the strong feelings for the bloke have already started and they're addicted to this new bad boy. Then they're left flat on their backs wondering where it all went wrong, not realising that they got suckered in too soon.

If this happens to a lot of times to the same woman, eventually they become jaded and they enter the manhater phase.

Was having this discussion with a friend of mine last week so figured i'd just say here what i said to him in case it helps.

I've been on both sides of the friends zone fence but never been bitter or upset by it. Why? I find it fairly easy to separate Sex from Emotional attachment - they don't have to both get involved in the same relationship.

If you're like me - this isn't a problem except for an occasional minor annoyance if someone was particuarly fun to bed with/good in bed etc.

If you can't separate Sex from Emotional attachment, i'd strongly suggest taking it a lot slower and not sleeping with girls until you know it's serious for both of you. Take it from me this will not turn chicks off you - quite the opposite.

For some reason they generally start trying harder to tempt you into sleeping with them if you are the one saying "No, not yet". I'm sure it's that whole female ego thing coming into play - i.e. "What's wrong with me? We'll see about that".

I fully expect to get horribly flamed by any female members of the forum reading this. Get over it - it's an opinion based on the experiences of someone who's been around the block a few times - not the end of the world

It's hard to be rational and logical when emotions are involved. The same sorts of women are the same ones that go back to men who cheat on them / hit them or generally treat them bad.

TBH I simply deal with it as the moment a girl friend zones you, go fine somone else.

If they bitch when you find someone else, well then get stuck in.

If they feel they have some right to bitch at you when you do go off and find someone else, then theyre either:

A) The typical high maintenance bint you're never interested in in the first place
B) Someone who actually wants you

For me, typically its A.

Thats the whole point. You cant MAKE someone like you. If you are religated to the 'friend zone' or if you decide to put someone in the friend zone yourself, it is because you dont want them in that way. Simple -nothing you can do about it. Move on. Get over it.
