...seem to have mostly disappeared...? Have they rejoined the Under 15s Netball team, or just left the game?

Its a cycle:

People join the forums, get all excited, make funny avatars and sigs.
Then they focus their attention on post count and try to post lots.
Then they make friends and post a lot of crap with those people.
Then they realise that post count means fuck all and that their friends are only mutual friends to boost both parties post counts.
Then they go through a short 'lets try to make this forum better' phase.
Then they give up and just post occasional in DAoC General forums.

So the old forumites have mostly given up on BW but there are always new people doing roughly the same thing.
