The Fins....

Hi

Well I haven't recently tarnished my soul and exposed myself to the fins and the boring monotonous wait that is, 'The Fins List'.

As rule the system seems to work well and of course it is a fair way to make sure that everyone gets thier turn.

If there is one major thing that really, -really- bugs me about the fins and that is Focus pulling.

I have held the list a couple of times myself and I know that the biggest list is always the number of tanks waiting for a spot. So why oh why do people insit on making the Fins a focus pull group? Do enchanters think that they are the only class in Hibernia worth anything? I'd like to see how far they get in RvR without any tanks.

Surely the group should be balanced and allow everyone a chance, including Rangers and NS's, to sell their soul and get a boost up to 50.

A bit of a rant I know and I'm sure I'll get flamed, but I just had to say something.

because a pet with focus shield on very rarely loses aggro, and all aggro goes to the pet when it pulls so you don't end up with tanks missing their taunt

oh.. and with focus pulling you can pretty easily pull 6 purple con mobs, whereas with tanks, that's kinda highly risky (hi storm :p )

given that, i still try to save some spots for tanks in focus groups, tho they're mostly taken by shades/rangers

Fins just suck donkeyballs.
Just setup a nice group for EZ or something and have fun.

focus shield exp over a long period of time is up to 2 times as effective as normal method. reasons:

- pet will never lose aggro
- healers dont have to change heal target = no chance of deaths
- pet is far more efficient at taking damage than tanks
- leaves space for more mages = faster kills

so that's proly why tanks aren't wanted if focus pulling is happening. whether that's right or wrong.

and btw sheeroe >>>>> fins

I had an awesome group in Sheeroe last saturday.
We managed about 7 bubs of xp in 4 hours at lvl 49.
Body pulling knights 4tehwin.
You'll be hard pressed to reach that kind of xp with focus pulling.

Offcourse petpulling is nice and works great.
But its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO borring.

Its much more fun to just pull "old-style" imo.
All have to work a bit to get XP (except wardens, they can afk :p)

its a good point u make here m8

my shade was out at fins last week and i was pulling and luvin it :D

then after a while we ended up with two lv 49 chanters who decided we should focus pull

for the rest of the time the current tanks sat on our arse and did nothing cept maybe if someone got aggro

then someone left and coz that was a tank they said naw no point in taking anyone to replace

then after a while it was mentioned that the grp didnt need any tanks just healers and the 2 chanters by this time the gfrp was only 6 peeps

tbh fins are cack and the more things like this that happen the more chance hibbies will notice better places

like Bog, EZ, Fomor, TS, Marfach, DF,

Another reason why fins suck :D
Some hibs have to learn alot, but thats another story.

People are focus pulling in the main fins grp !!!!!!!!!

OMG as if it wasn't boring enough in a balanced group that poking rusty needles into your eyes was preferable.

Come on Hib's there really is a distinct lack of imagination and focus on fun here......................

oooops sorry i forgot I'm in the minority who play for fun rather than to get 50 ASAP and be an uber pwner zergling :p

yeh except for old-style you need a decent group set up (warden, druid, bard, 2x pbers, 2-3 tanks.. rogues? non pbers? g'luck etc)

with focus pull, u only really need 1 mana chanter, 1 druid, 1 other pber, and a bard, leaving 4 spots open for leeching for all those other classes that are so often neglected in old-style groups

xp is boring regardless, focus pulling isn't too bad if u're the one pulling (pulling knights with a pet when u're wearing cloth is kinda..er.. fun :p )

yeh it sucks for the rest tho :p

For a good focus grp you should go for 2 chanters, 1 bard 1 druid. Rest is free for who takes it :)

Tried it and it works perfect :m00:

Well, if u cant setup a decent group, then u choose the wrong game imo :p

I nevah had real trouble creating a decent group myself.
Then again, i aint an elph, but a nice blonde bard now....helps alot.

Seriously, with a bit of effort it takes 10-15 min to find all u need.

Personally I don't like focusing pulling cos I've met too many arrogant enchanter's who think they are elite and everyone should bow to their superiority. The pet and its shield are good yeah, but you get hit and you still die like a wus ;)

If the fins group wants to pull with pet, then fine, but the group make-up must remain the same as it has always been. If the chanter doesnt need another tank cos he's focus pulling, TUFF! The chanter might want the extra xp that comes with a 7 member group rather than an 8 member group, but there's too much of this selfish attitude in this game already. Remember it's supposed to be fun and your not the only one who wants a group or great xp.

People have got annoyed before and setup their own group at fins and its ended in big arguments and lengthy borign threads arguing about it. The only way the fins group has ever carried on and justified itself is the 'fair' method by which it has operated. If this system can't carry on as it has always been, the whole list system needs ditching and the fins spot should again become a free-for-all spot just like anywhere else.

If I'm wrong then I apologise in advance, but I don't suppose Warlockss was in this group by any chance?

some days its hard to get 3 tanks to start fins with some its easier to focus pull. once you have started focus pulling its hard to switch the group around so that 3 tanks get spots and 2 casters... for focus pulling you usually need 3 casters .. 1 focus pulling .. 1 pbaoe and 1 doing whateva else, if casters can be fuked to get up earlier then tanks to fins then why not give them the spots :p not saying its right but i dont think its wrong .. first come first serve

No no no... warden can not be afk... they have to hold aggro on those 10 knights...
