The NME Awards Tour in Jan/Feb 2005 features the following bands:

The Killers! (POW!)
The Futureheads! (BLAMMO!)
Bloc Party! (KERSPLAT!)
The Kaiser Chiefs! (FOOM!)

AWESOME

Tickets are going pretty damn quick, though. NME website says a lot of the venues (EDIT: actually all of them) have already sold out, but check with your local as that probably isn't true (I learned this through personal experience with Notts Rock City). Well worth £15.50.

Although, probably the best "free" festival would have to be "the matthew st festival" which is the monday after creamfields. A lot of really good unknown bands play there.

In the arse end of nowhere about 6 miles outside of St Andrews. Was a wicked night, I spent most of it mashing it up in the DnB room (naturally), although I did also have a good time in the Funky/Hard House room (damn women softening my taste in dance music dammit!). Just a shame it all finished at 2 :/ I was just getting going, had my grind on and everyfink.
