Italians are as bad as Murray. Hamilton got booed by the vast majority of people on the track below the podium while Alonso got a roar. I can understand them giving a Ferrari driver a good welcome but why can't they at least be nice to someone else?

Not to mention hands on, first on the scene life saving interventions. Think the trackside tracheotomy on mika hakkinen whilst he was still strapped in the remains of his car at Adelaide for instance. He was also a top top neurosurgeon as well as his F1 exploits.

Amazing man, good age, but still a shame to lose him.

Well Merc are investing a ton of money on the new 2014 engine formula and there's a worry that McLaren are starting to fall behind in investment; they certainly have a lot smaller budget than RB, Ferrari and Mercedes.

... and with Brawn at the helm, an undoubted demi-god of F1 himself, it's easy to see why LH has made the move. I'm still torn on it.. perhaps it's just LH turning his back on McC which doesn't sit well with me, but then I see both viewpoints.

McLaren couldn't afford to match Mercedes' offer and still have a budget left for car development. Lewis is a top three driver, but you don't need a top three driver to win a championship. A top five driver will do and they've probably got 2 of them now. What you do need is the cash to develop the car and they've just saved a packet.

Lewis has made the right move. This kind of money will set his grandkids up, never mind his own kids. He might get a championship, but there's no seat now which could guarantee him one, so he might as well go where the money is. Mercedes will be as good a place as any.

This could easily be one of the best moves Hamilton has ever made. It could also be a career ender.
A lot of people are writing him off for it, and every single one of those is a moron.
The same sort of moron's that were writing off Schumacher when he signed for Ferrari in 1995. "It'll end his career."
5 world championships later and more records than HMV, they couldn't have been proved more wrong.
This could be the same here. People are saying "They don't have the pedigree". They (Mercedes) do. They've said they haven't won properly for ages. They also conveniently forget that Ferrari had a "rough patch" lasting decades.
Only time will tell.

So Schumacher's retiring again, his second run didn't go quite as well as he hoped. I don't know what he was expecting to achieve but it would probably have been better had he not come back (as many people suggested when he announced that he would drive again).

I think he retired, had a bout of "I could have done that time", then came back at which point unfortunately his skills dipped.

Great grand prix. Vettel did very well but I won't heap the praise on him considering the amount of help he had. Lovely to see Kimi win, again though a shame it was in spite of Lewis' car conking out - the bloke was faultless most weekend and was clearly never going to be touched today despite not having the quickest car. Some drivers suit some tracks wonderfully and this was one for Lewis.
Ah well, lots of luck either way for lots of people and a lot of action as a result. Webber borrowed Vettel's Mardy Twat Hat from yesterday and put it to good use.
