If your implants are not worth a substantial amount compared to your wallet content, go for it. :)

Just go for it, if having implants is stopping you playing they need to be blown up anyway :)

+4's do still have peanuts as a price tag though.

On the other hand, more related to the expansion, getting from -1.95 Minmatar faction standing to 0.5 is gonna take a while. :)

faction standing grind is a nightmare. I posted a thread on the general discussion forum about it. Really quite hard to achieve. CCP should have offered people a one off faction respec.

Yeah tell me about it, they do however have some mechanics making it easier. Like the data centers, handing in tags to some agents give a faction standing boost. I handed in 30 angel copper tags, did the introduction data center missions and a level 1 and level 2 storyline, that landed me at -1.11 base faction.

From a RP standpoint it makes sense that it should be hard though, redeeming yourself after killing thousands of republic fleet ships shouldn't be as easy as paying a speeding ticket. :)

However it's fine, I do 16 level 2 missions before bedtime and work. Can't wait until I can take up the minmatar cause!

Errr actually I think I'll go Amarr instead. They need people and frankly I don't care about which side is best. Only thing I know is that there's alot of targets to shoot! :)
Mostly because grinding faction is such a bore. :(
Or dunno, now I am in doubt. Anyone going either way?

Gallente here - we want to shoot the Caldari Nubs.

Amarr are having serious internal problems. There are the roleplayers who like to hump around in big blobs and there are the roleplayers who are there for the Emperor and they are very badly divided. The Matar are very well organised and are completely pwning them.

We choose Gallente because:
a) plenty of targets
b) they will be the slight underdog
c) we kind of object to the whole ethos of amarr roleplay.

As for the changes yes the mechanics should be tough but they should have offered that one time respec - they didn't and so we have to grind.

I have managed to get down to -0.3 from -2.6 though so not too bad.

I intend to be over +1 by the end of the weekend if I can do it.

Yeah since I already used some hours like 50m for tags already I thought hell, go with it. I don't think your underdog holds ground though as by reading the boards, people have been flocking to gallente and minmatar for exactly your reasons, caldari noob targets and plenty of them, badly organized etc.

We have some alliance friends who went to Caldari and there were some unplesant peopleplaying there. They have since left and are contemplating coming along with us.

As for the grind. I didn't quite make it to +1 but I am well on the way to it.

Find a decent courier agent and run missions like billyo.

You only need 0.5 average for your entire corp or personal base standing though. I'm at -0.5 or so. Just a tip, there are some COSMOS missions you can do and the data center ones. The nice thing is that you can hand in tags for Gallente and get an 80% derivate faction standing with Minmatar aswell. (works other way around too)

But I've done all of those I can do atm so now it's mission grinding, yep. :)
Nerf that it's 16 missions before storyline now though.

I got to 2.4 last night after hitting 0.6+ and then handing in all the tags so I am done with the grind now.

Just waiting on corp mates to do the business now!!
