I notice that some of the stuff on that site seems to be from around 1973.
I wonder if it was topical at the time and possibly has no relevance now so it just falls flat.

National Lampoon would do the occasional really funny stuff, but they just fire off stuff in all directions and most of it misses. I loved Bored Of The Rings but don't think I've found any of their other stuff any good. Doon (Dune parody) was not very good - I think in the whole book there were like 2 jokes that actually worked and most of their films have occasional funnies, but rarely belly laughs.

They always strike me as trying to be Monty Python but end up more like Readers Digest
