The day I stopped a middie raid upon Sursbrooke

okay well I just surprised them, but still it did its job

Wanna hear the story?

I was wandering around Pennines Mtns with a group of new friends I had met earlier that night and we got bored with arawanites. (they were all about 5 or so levels below me so I was giving them a guided tour of our frontier). Anyway we (okay okay ME) get the idea to go hunt ellylls. Well mistake number one was coming from Snowdonia, I got a bit off track and we got attacked by Tegs. Most of us survived and so we hightail it to the closest keep, Sursbrooke to regroup and go back and rez the fallen.

Just about then we hear noises and someone says "i think the keep is getting attacked". So I tell them to hang back in the shadows so they aren't seen and I stealth around. I sneak up for a better look and yup they are attacking our beloved Sursbrooke .

I was trying to think fast, I knew I and my group were no match for about 10-15 mids. *may have been more, my estimating of people is really bad* and was about to just run back and get them to safety. Figured I could call for reinforcements from Excalibur.

But then a mid comes around the corner and (yup mistake 2) I react. My brain screams "You damn dirty troll; leave my beloved keep alone!". So I do what I am meant to do, mez and beat the crap out of him. Nearly kill him (he was only blue for goodness sakes) but he starts yelling for help and he gets healed. Then his friend jumps in and they both pummel me. Not much else for me to do but die at this point.

But what is funny is this...I got the whole army to stop what they were doing and come around the corner. They didn't realize I was all by myself *usually I am not* and a few even went around and checked for more.

At this point I am a little unsure of the details with all the chat going on in my chat box and the fact I died around the corner so I couldn't really see the door. But what I know is this, I distracted them long enough for the guards to pop and finish them off

Yeah sure a few ran, but they left Surs before they could take her. (at least for a little while)

I have never been so proud to die for my realm then I did that night

And that's how I defended Sursbrooke from an army of mids for a little while

I'm pretty sure me and my little friend Trebs the Trebuchet kept Midgard from attacking our relic keep last night. My trigger finger is still itchy from not firing a single shot...

Perhaps there were less than 10 to 15 mids then. Trust a minstrel to exagerate a story.

The point is, I was surprised as much as everyone else on that hill, only they paused too long and they died also.


And of course they should investigate attacks, we might be Albs but right now we are kicking your ass alll over the place. LOL

We managed on our 3rd try to get the relics...and we have kept them now for quite a while. Even when you try and take our keeps, you still can't manage to get thru our relic doors without being stopped. Hmm turns out that ya'll aren't so unstoppable after all.

Now you know how we felt for so long. Sucks to be dominated, eh? LOL

Nerf minstrel? Where does that come from?? Not like I was able to stand on a hill miles away and pick you off one by one (not mentioning names)... I only got to one of you and only didn't even kill him. Oh and btw, minstrels don't get nerfed, in fact we get stronger and better in 1.51. Years away I know, but we get aoe mezz, and about damn time.

I can't wait!! Damn I love to be a minstrel

yeayea I wont rub it all in, but you took the keep undefended and when we attack you defend all the time (which you have done good). the regular keeps are ez even when defended.

a) Albs kicking our asses? funny last time i checked it was taking well over 2 times mid numbers to stop us, i wouldn't call that getting our asses kicked actually.

b) Two weeks is not 'quite a while'

c) Who's being dominated? we keep albs on alert with 30 mids pissing around in your frontier, I'd more call that albs being paranoid than them dominating anyone.
Remember last time you had 60 odd mids attacking Excal and at least double that many albs defending and it still took over an hour to kill us even with a full set of uber guards beating on us at the same time? That's hardly dominating.

I seem to remember that before we took the str relics, whenever we were in the same zone as one of your keeps you would be out in force at your relic keeps, while also sending large groups to stop us taking more keeps.

Giving AE mezz to minstrels is stupid. They dont need it.

Let me propose an insane idea :

Give AEMezz to Friars!

They have a mana pool. They have weak armor and not overly played (so hopefully we can avoid the CC whines) and it would really help albions shite CC situation.

Most albion groups out in rvr dont have an AE Mezzer and it hurts us ;(

True, last thing minstrels need is a crappy 5sec cast time, 250 radius AoE mez that lasts for 30 seconds max and consumes 1/4th of the power bar... Doubt any self respecting minstrel will have that on his/her quickbar at all.
