Bored of shadowrun demo already.

The Overlord demo has left me massively disappointed. The gameplay really isn't that great. Nice concept, I'm just not sure it works.

I hope Dirt or the Darkness are a bit better.

Failing that I'll just wait for mass effect and alan wake.

The Overlord demo doesn't show alot bud, it is a very basic runthrough of the controls and nothing more. You don't get any of the lair building stuff or storyline, what you do get is alot of humour and slight taste of what the full game is about. Of course the full game might not be very good but I for one shall wait and see, if it isn't good then I will be bitterly disappointed because what I have seen so far shows promise.

I'll still try it as, you're right, it does look very promising. It reminds me massively of Fable; the look, the humour etc.

Overlord does remind me of Fable, the demo was fun just wasn't long enough for me to get into it, though I did enjoy the minions I think its one of those games you wouldn't pay full price for.

Just been playing 'The Darkness' and it seems decent, the controls are fine and the game is well polished. Will post more when I get another chance to play.

Overlord demo was awesome imo. Was almost exactly dungeon keeper meets fable imo. Cant wait for full thing.

Quick review:

visually stunning, nice twist on an old formula, excellent violence. I love not being scared of the dark.

I like playing scary games when you don't have to be scared

What difficulty you play on?

I'm on hard and its erm hard lol

Trying not to finish it too quickly coz the MP is shite and you could probably play through it 2-3 times before it gets old.

for some reason, its a good dame. i cant really work out whats special about it, but something special is there no question about it.

i rented it on the off chance as it was no1 in the blockbuster charts, no complaints so far except some bugs when it comes to aiming. my red dot will be on a lightbulb but the bullets shoot through unless i move closer.

afaik ive only got a small amount left. probably played about 8 hours so far so its not a long game at all.

I don't see how you can do normal difficulty in under 10 hours unless you ran through and didn't go for all the collectables and extra optional missions. It took me 14.5 hours and I did all the optional missions, devoured 522 hearts and found 79 of the 100 collectables.

You are getting near to the end then. Again I have to ask, did you just run through and miss the optional missions plus leave alot of collectables undiscovered? If not then I take my hat off to you because I don't feel I wasted any time and it still took me 14.5 hours.

Took me over 15 hours on my first play through that was doing all the side quests and collecting as much as i could and just exploring the world.

Sounds to me like you ploughed through the main story and said 'i beat the game'

Which is ok because today i ran through it a second time and completed it in around 9 hours because i still had some things i didn't do first time round.

I have seen lots of posts on forums saying its a short game and people finished it in 7 hours straight i think these people haven't even bothered their fat lazy arses to explore the game and find the hidden items.

These games last as long as you want them to last if you wanna blaze through it and finish it the day you get it then i pity.
