Btw I didn't say I thought The Darkness are shit. Far from it, I admire them but still think its a novelty act and there's a danger the bubble might burst soon.

On a side note, IMHO Tenacious D are as funny as the invasion of the Rhineland.

I do however agree with you on this.

They had one song that was almost ok, but apart from that they are unfunny and the music is highly irritating.

Their lyrics, and the guy singing them, are pretty dire... Increadably overated - They've managed to get caught up in a backlash against pop and urban music, by being the 70s glam rock stereotype... The longish* hair and mad outfits are ways for their "fans" to buy into a rock image.



*I would hardly consider their hair long. My hair is longer, yet i would still consider it too short

The Darkness are overrated crap. They can sing and admittedly they will appeal to a mass audience... To me they are more bearable then the likes of Iron Maiden, but they are utter crap. Their first song "Growing on me" was OK to listen to... err twice. But after that it got stale, after that it got annoying. Whenever they come on TV, everyone is saying how great they are... They aren't that great though.
