There is no max temp for working, only minimum temperature.

I believe there is legislation in the pipeline to set the maximum temperature one can work in to 80 degrees F.

80 degrees farenheit is 27 degrees Centigrade.

They were discussing this on the Jeremy Vine show yesterday.

Just pop to the kitchen every 10 minutes, spend 5 minutes there getting a cold drink. They can't exactly complain, its roasting.

One day last summer everyone refused to work involving effort because of the heat. The air conditioning was broken, the warehouse was a sauna and we had no customers. Hottest. Day. Ever.

tbh

I actually already thought there was a maximum temperature, apparently I'm wrong tho :)

I think you'll find that any tribunal would be sympathetic if you were asked to work in temperatures above 35c, and you refused.

heh. Fortunate there weren't any bosses in that day. It was probably around 35c though, considering there were no windows or ventilation in that fucking building :/

The Sun is where it's at :)

I stopped buying the Sun when they (blatantly trying to sell papers through lying) wrote that Scousers were theiving from and pissing on the bodies of their dead family members at the Hillsborough disaster.

It's a better paper than the star, the sport etc and infinitely more readable than most of the broadsheets. But I'm FUCKED if I'm going to buy such a piece of fucking blatant shit.

They said the fans urinated on the cops, not the dead family members.

Still, a bit unsympathetic though.

edit // Further research... Thats what the headline said, and inside an unnamed source said that it was the on the police and the bodies, my mistake.....

Well I measured the temp in one area and it was 29 degrees centigrade, we're not allowed to have the air conditioning on if the doors are open and the overhead fans are on and drinks are full price. And on top of that most of my duties involve heavy lifting and running about trying to do my tasks before people start complaining.

Has anybody noticed the amount of spelling and gramatical mistakes as well as the poor research in the daily star.<?> For people who are supposedly profesionals they make far too many. For example today, an article on mistake<s> made in movies and titanic being one of them mentioning that the titanic sank in the Artic ocean instead of the Atlantic ocean. If it had sank in the Artic

It really doesn't take much effort does it? Are all their reporters lazy and dyslexic?Clearly it takes more effort than you were prepared to put in with your rebuttal

I can't believe it. I go away for a few weeks and I miss a perfect opportunity to be pedantic. I started reading this thread and my excitement grew as I saw no-one saw fit to correct the terrible spelling in a spelling-orientated thread and then........Durzel.

You git.

Ahh well.

In my defence I was actually going to make it ironic but I knew that my own lack of spelling ability recently would do it for me. And it was the early hours of the morning I believe. And I'm not a profesional reporter for a national daily tabloid.

NEVER buy the sun. Ask any scouser why..... :(

Yeah... i was down in Liverpool one time, about 2months ago and i seen shitloads of posters on walls telling people not to buy the Sun.

Didnt know why, but when i had time i checked one of the posters and it was about the Hillsborough Disaster? Apparently they blamed the liverpudlian supporters for what happened...

Didnt know that because i was a little young to remember the HBD

That's a bit of an understatement. A bit unsympathetic???

They made up some absolute shit about the Scousers theiving from the dead bodies of their own supporters and then urinating on them. That's not unsympathetic - it's fucking disgraceful and the paper should have had it's licence to print removed.

ALL of the personal belongings were accounted for. Bodies WERE NOT urinated on.

All in the name of selling more papers.

None of what you read is news people. Of the 7 "big" news stories I've had detailed personal knowledge of NONE of them have been reported accurately (or even generally correctly) by any press organistation (local press, tabloids, broadsheets and televised (BBC/Sky News).

Hmm, maybe unsympathetic was a bit of an understatement..

Do you need a license to print in this country? I thought we had a free press, could be wrong.

Dunno to be honest.

They should have been shut down anyway.... but, lets face it, the press hasn't improved much since then anyway :(
