The Big Server Wipe Debate

On the US forums, one of the official Blizzard people actually started a sticky thread asking if people wanted a wipe or not.. Which I thoguht was silly.. Ofc it would be fun to be a high level on pvp server when all the lowbies who just got their account come to play.. (heh that alone should cause a wipe )

I'm not fussed either way regarding a wipe, although having to kill 20 Harvest Watchers all over again, or collect Rot Blossoms is going to kill me ....

However, isn't their some value in leaving some of the higher level accounts alive? Just think, your first visit to Stormwind, the great city, and you are surrounded by noobs ... not really inspiring. However, if on your first visit to the city, you see level a level 40 NE stroll past, you're going to think "Wow ... that's cool" and really feel like you are in an established city.

I'm all for having high level players wandering around Stormwind to inspire people and make the city feel like it's been there for more than 10 minutes

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear - I am a FB tester only, so I wasn't blowing my own trumpet. In fact, though, I disagree with you that the first Beta testers don't deserve recognition. Remember that those who did slave through constant rollbacks, squishing bugs so that FB could be so good - were hardly enjoying themselves.

Why do it then? It's not like Blizzard were paying them.

It's not going to happen, but I love that idea. My lickle baby gnome mage could have been captured and require rescuing on an escort-to-safety mission.
