The best way to buy Darkness Rising?

No choice but to download online. DAOC not sold in Dubai. Although Warcraft, City of Heroes, Guildwars, City Of Villians and The Matrix are all sold here.

they have Asia servers, GOA doesnt

Buying it from play.com simply because i would like CD's rather than downloading a GiG for the same price

was wondering, can u install darkness rising now or have to wait for it to be patched?

You can install it now as follows:

Darkness rising uses catacombs as the base folder, so make a copy of your catacombs folder and use the US downloaded Darkness Rising patch.

then you will have an full Darkness Rising folder, just locate the update.dat and change it to the Euro address.

Then on patch day once the servers come back up just log in as normal, you will have some download to the Euro version but away you go.

Ofcourse I'm assuming your gonna purchase an online licence.

AFAIK Play.com and game are stocking DR. Ordered mine from play.com, they are releasing it on 3rd Feb.

Hawk you should be downloading the US patch for catacombs anyway as you cant buy it where you are.

Funny thing is I play from Australia and I will be online playing DR long before most people playing from the UK.

Unless they download it... will have to see what surprises GOA come up with.
