Moonstone was ace, i had it on my old Amiga (which i ended up leaving at a house when i moved out 5years ago or so)

tbh the dragon was easy to kill, you just strafe when he fires at you, then use an upper attack to its neck/throat can take a while but tis the best way.

Also never attack the 'things' that come down from the trees on a full moon as they get tougher.

Used to play an Ascii based MuD and the old rogue-type games Moria and Angband.....had many dreams in Ascii with a flashing @ representing me :)

Oh the memories of whacking your funstick around and hearing the "MOO MOO!" cries of the monsters when you slaughter them into an oriental style fleshcarpet :kissit:

Loved it, love it, all others can bite my beehive.

ff VII was only 7 years ago.... not exactly a feat of memory to remember it :)

Moonstone 12 years ago
http://www.classicgaming.com/amigareviews/moonston.htm

reading that I guess it wasn't just that it was a rather dubious version of the game that made it crash all the time ;)

the review was just for info - didn't realise there was a competition ;)

supposed the thread title is "best RPG ever" but it was reading more like a nostalgia trip than a "my rpg pwns yours" :)

I have to say, as moonstone is more of the grandaddy of hack'n'slash, that Galdegrons domain is the best rpg in ye old times.
