Once Pontin goes it will be as good as over. No way will they last the day let alone get another 400 odd.

The Wicket played well yesterday afternoon due to the heavy roller used by Aus before their inning. The surface is again deteriorating fast and the ball moving about. Classic Test Series but should be an easy win here. It was won on the first morning with the toss.

What's your take on Ponting as captain Levi? Lots of people are questioning him, I personally still think he's the man for the job so it'll be interesting what occurs.

Oh and ofc:

Best man for the job, won't be around for much longer for the internationals so just hope he can pass on as much useful info onto pup.
Have to say was actually impressed with strauss as captain this series, good fielding and lead by example.

That's what I think - all I can imagine is if they gave it someone else and they were in a tight spot they'd turn to him for his experience and skill anyway.

Strauss was indeed good, and I don't think Ponting did anything wrong; I believe if the Aussies had closed it out at Cardiff the England team would be quite demoralised and we'd have been staring at a 3-1 Aussie Ashes scoreline.
