Who else could afford him? PSG maybe but they are already taking the piss on FFP...not that UEFA care about FFP any more.
Its going to be City. Which is terrifying.

FIFA were also looking at it this season Mulling over changes proposed by Arsene Wenger. Believe it will be tested next season by FIFA.Much more knowledgeable people than me are championing the idea - Marco van Basten on the offside law, why it should be scrapped, and the hockey precedent that might surprise
FIFA also looked at it in 2017.
Will be if pool don't get champ league
I think they will still go for it, they have nothing to win/lose, Liverpool will be desperate. I can't see Chelsea doing City in the final, so it is absolutely vital for them too.
Oh I'm sure Leicester will go for the win, but Liverpool are playing Crystal Palace and have a positive goal difference of four. I can't see Leicester shellacking Spuds by six goals (assuming Liverpool get at least one) or Liverpool losing. Stranger things have happened I suppose, but the form book doesn't suggest it will. Leicester's best hope is probably a shock at Villa.
Woy's last game. I also can't ditch the feeling created by our history of flunking must-wins in this sort of situationLiverpool are playing Crystal Palace
It's kind of shit that qualifying for a competition feels like an important achievement. No steeeeevie G so slip over this time though.

The FA cup is actually a thing - but the money in the CL has broken that.
Football really is in a shit state because of money isn't it
Only because of the cash they can earn being in the bigger competition. To be fair to Liverpool, they regularly punch above their weight in the CL, so Europe is disproportionately important for them. Fourth place probably is more important than a domestic cup, even without the extra cash.

It's not the amount of cash in football that's the issue - it's the distribution and the entrenchment of advantage that comes with it. It was always thus, but is even more stark nowadays.
Maybe that looks like that from the outside. But it's not how it feels tbh.No, I don't think its just that; the average Liverpool fan goes into the CL with a reasonable expectation that they'll have a good run, probably play some dramatic games of football and maybe even win it. They're probably the only English club that's got a better European pedigree than domestic one.
Its importance is in the additional revenue. Keeps the big clubs big. It's kind of shit that qualifying for a competition feels like an important achievement.

That's what I'm saying. Its importance is in the additional revenue. Keeps the big clubs big.
There was audible consternation at VAR, which diluted the fun of Christian Benteke’s equaliser
They took the opportunity to express their feelings on various issues, serenading Matheus Pereira with chants of “we want you to stay” and roaring their opposition to VAR even when a video review ruled out a goal by the opposition
Twice the corruptionFifa considers World Cup every two years
Football's world governing body Fifa will launch a feasibility study into holding the men's and women's World Cups every two years instead of four.www.bbc.co.uk
It isn't just the corruption aspect, because lets face it fans are hardly enamoured by FIFA, but also the idea somehow it'll produce a levelling up effect for the non European clubs who along with South America dominate the World Cup.
