Just having a chat with the resident Spud in the office and he is of the opinion that this Spurs team who are all young could go on to do good things for the next 4 or 5 years. While I think it could be true. Do you thing Levy will keep the team together? I know Spurs do not need to sell but with the cost of the stadium do you think he would turn down £50m for Kane or Ali if the bids come in?

Levy will always sell. And act like he's not going to until the last minute of the last hour.

They have been a selling club for a while now, it just depends how the money is reinvested. I thought the Bale money waste largely wasted.

Nah, not this time (he said, confidently). Levy realises something special is happening with this manager and this team. Levy wanted Lamela out last Summer but Pochettino stepped in and prevented it from happening. I don't expect a lot of activity in either direction in the Summer transfer window. We could do with a striker and a backup CB but I genuinely don't think we need to strengthen anywhere else.

We've not had a *team* like this in forever. The players all clearly love each other and the manager and his philosophy. The belief is that they can achieve great things. This isn't just Spurs fans talking, people like Carragher have said it too (MNF after Stoke).

It would take an absolutely stupendous offer (from abroad) for Levy's head to be turned. I believe that the finance is in place for the stadium. Obviously belts will be tightened but we've been doing that for years; I believe that Levy is the best in the league at what he does.

What has become of Everton, Martinez needs to fuck right off now.

If we lose Saturday (Or fuck, even if we win the Cup) get him the fuck out before he causes any more damage to us.

You are in the semi final for the cup and they want him out.

Seems a bit silly one game against the reds and he is shit. Your not in a bad league position considering your finances and squad and the semi finals of the fa cup. Moyes didnt do much more. Withput massive investment thats yr lot be happy. Even with yr fighting with a lot of clubs that have rich owners.

They've won 1 in their last 8. They are well below where they should be and where Moyes had them season after season. Martinez doesn't know what he is doing re: defending. They papered over the cracks previously by scoring lots of goals but that's not happening any more. It's a lot more than "one game", Everton fans have been grumbling for months.

Has De Gea been that good thing year?
I think he's single handedly gained/saved them a lot of points like Lloris did with us last year. The difference being we have a pair of competent defenders in front of Hugo now so he has had less to do. I think De Gea has been the best but a case could be made for Butland.

Bah. I like that the arena is called Britannia. I much prefer that the arena's have proper names instead of corporate sponsor names. I think the stadiums have different meanings for people outside of the UK and I hate to admit it but I think ManU have the best stadium name in Old Trafford - Theater of Dreams. I can't say exactly what it it, but it's powerful in a way. I've also always liked Craven Cottage for no particular reason :)

The britannia was a corporate name after the britania building society that sponsored it.

The Britannia Building Society was their main sponsor and one of the biggest employers in Stoke (well, Leek technically). They don't sponsor Stoke anymore (I think they were bought out), so the name was up for grabs.

*edit* yes, they were bought by the Co-Op bank and they're slowly getting rid of the name (they were supposed to be replacing it completely with Co-Op but they've been having their own financial issues over the last few years so a few Britannia branches are still around).

I remember when Newcastle tried to change their stadium name, the fallout was brilliant.

Not a fan of clubs naming the stadiums after sponsors, it somehow robs them of any meaning...especially when it inevitably changes every few years.

Newcastle were never getting any money for that name change from sports direct. Mike ashley was just using as a marketingg machine. Same withh all the sports direct stuff at newcastle. The football club dont get any money for it just enforced marketing for mikes business.

What @Moriath said, the only reason it's still called St. James' Park is 'cause Wonga are such a lovely company'.

Highbury was actually called the Arsenal Stadium but the fan name stuck. A lot of fans and a few commentator's have called The Emirates by its fan name The Grove by mistake. I don't mind the clubs making a bit of money out of it.

Is Aguero the best striker in the BPL? People talk a whole lot about Vardy and Kane, but when looking at goals per minute and goals per shot, Aguero shits on both of them. Neither of them have a substantial amount of assists either, so which of the three would you pick as your goalscorer if you were to build a team from scratch?

If you could only have one then Kane. Younger and Sergio misses a lot of games through injury.
