Oh Vidic. Fucking disgusting.
Never a red, wasn't even that nasty. Just late.

Really bad defending from us in set pieces cost that. We were never gong to win though, but could have got a point.

Rafael's was a definite red though, exactly the same as what Debuchy got sent off for a few weeks ago.

Aye but Rafael should have gone for that two footed lunge at the end, so it all balances out.

Oh and fucking lol @ the Chelsea fans singing We Want You to Stay at Moyes.

It could be either card in my opinion, but it was some what nasty out of frustration.

They may be poor at the moment but they're still so satisfying to beat ☺

Sorry but you're talking complete bollocks. Hazard was gone and he just decided to put one on him. It may not have been a red purely because he's too old and shit to put in a truly horrible challenge but he was 100% trying.

Everton bringing in some giant striker from Monaco, him and Lukaku up front could be interesting.

Did anybody else enjoy the John Terry and Eto'o interview at the end? Terry translating was quality :p

I think they need more far more than Mata.

They do, but he's still a player worth having, especially if Rooney heads for the exit in the summer. Problem with him now will be the Kagawa conundrum; where do you play him if Rooney and RvP are playing? (And indeed, what will happen to Kagawa if you have Mata?)

No doubt Mata is an upgrade for United, but what does it matter when the rest of the team is in the state it's in? Like putting a Ferrari engine in a Vauxhall Astra. :p

They're not that bad. Vidic is reaching the end of the line, and Evra has become a self-fulfilling prophecy (if you keep banging on about how you need a new left back all the time, its no surprise that your existing - very good - left back starts to get disenchanted), but Jones, Evans and even Smalling have all stepped up in big games in the past. What United really need, and have needed for donkeys' years, is a Yaya Toure type in midfield. They've lacked a physical presence there for a long time and Fellaini isn't the solution. Mata would be a great signing, but there's still a hole behind him that Carrick alone can't fill.

The midfield and defense is dogshit, and has been for a while. Makes it all the more impressive what SAF dragged them up to.

To be more specific - their fullbacks are liabilities, their centre backs are either old and shit (Vidic, Ferdinand) or young and shit (the rest). The only one with any kind of promise is Evans but it's a 'best of a bad bunch' situation. I'd really like Phil Jones to fulfil the potential he supposedly has, but he just looks a complete clown to me.

In midfield I still think Carrick is a joke, he can spray long balls all over the field but that is it. Can't run, can't tackle. Ashley Young is a joke, Valencia is woefully average... the list goes on.

I wonder if Rooney does go either now or in the summer whether this would be the first team aim. For now Rooney can play in Kagawa's place or up front dependent on injuries. You have several decent but not outstanding reserves (Lindegaard, Smalling, Fellaini, Cleverly, Valencia, Fletcher, Zaha, Hernandez, Welbeck) but also a lot of dead weight to move on.

De Gea
Rafael, Jones, Evans, NEW
Carrick, NEW
Mata, Kagawa, Januzaj
RVP

I don't see why Chelsea would sell Mata to a Prem club, let alone one that is a direct competitor. Could be just Mourinho stringing Moyes along then he will fuck him on the last day... Even if they're not competitors this season, he'd still be strengthening them.

RvP is going to need world class competition/potential replacement next season as well, he'll be 31 and the injury woes seem to be back (personally I'm convinced the Moyes' training regime has a lot to answer for). Welbeck is a decent player, but I don't think he's ever going to be the guy. The other problem with the Mata/Kagawa/Januzaj combo is that only one of them is actually an out and out wide player; under SAF this wouldn't have been a major issue necessarily, but I don't think Moyes trusts tactical fluidity.

As far as I can see not all the teams who are playing 4,2,3,1 (e.g. Chelsea, Man City) are playing with out and out wingers in the 3 instead relying on the wingbacks for width and the double-pivot for holding/defence against counterattacks. Rafael and Evra currently fulfill that but Evra's not got much longer. I suppose Arsenal have been playing with seemingly more width but with Walcott injured again I think they have probably become narrower.

I think RVP is feigning injury so he doesn't have to play for Moyes!
Seeing as the fitness staff are saying he is ready to play but RVP is saying he is still x weeks away from fitness you are probably right.

Also he is meant to have said get a new manager or sell me earlier in the season. He could be trying to engineer a move.

Can't think of a single decent reason we'd allow this transfer, makes no sense for us.
