The only reason Wenger bought Ozil was because he had to buy someone.

He always wanted him apparently. He tried to sign him but Real got him a few years ago. That said, even if he was a last resort he was an amazing signing. He'd easily be the first name on the team sheet for any team in the prem.

He bought Ozil to wow the fans and they collectively fell for it hook, line and sinker. Sure he's strengthened the team but it's in an area where they were already strong (as 2 gooners have pointed out on this page alone) and didn't need reinforcements.

If Wenger doesn't enjoy the main transfer window, he absolutely detests the January one. It should be interesting to see who they can get then. And they definitely are going to need at least a few players if they're going to fight on all 4 fronts this season.

Other than maybe Barca, I can't think of a single team in the world who would say no to Ozil at £42.5 million. He's not marginally better than any of Arsenal's midfielders. He's miles better. Just look at his record over the last few years, it's probably the best in the world after Messi and Ronaldo.

I am not sure about that. Wenger knows we needed a megastar player and Ozil is a safe bet. There is no doubt having him at Arsenal will help attract other megastar players. Yes we needed improvement in other areas more but it is by no means a bad signing.And if we do spend the other £30 in January and we bring in quality like that I will be happy.

There is also talk at Arsenal that Santi is on his way he is apparently struggling with adapting in England and he is spending a lot of his time injured back at home. There was also talk that f we got Ozil before deadline day Santi would have gone back to Spain. I obviously hope this is not true.

I think he will cost us games. I wish he would just stay back and be the defensive player he is meant to be. The amount of times we are being exploited between the Midfield and Defense is worrying. I would still put a DM above a striker on the wish list.
