I meant more the fact that none of the top four clubs were in for him again knowing that it is his last year. City and Utd both allegedly had £20m+ bids accepted before he decided to stay at Ajax the season before last but this year Spuds get him with no competition.

Perhaps he wanted the guarantee of first team football? He's clearly got a smart head on his shoulders by staying at Ajax for so long.

After watching it yesterday, it was just one of those games. Barrys block on Etoo was pretty mint. Chelsea could have won 3-0 but that's the beauty of the premier league.

Gabbys miss was the highlight of yesterday though That's why he isn't with the England squad no matter how short we are.

Depends if you think a forward is only in the team to score goals. He's not lethal by any means but he stacks up pretty well against any of the other strikers currently available for England. These days he mostly plays wide cutting in, for some reason Lambert had us playing without any width yesterday. Was still one of our better players though, even in a shit formation and set-up.

If nothing else he's fast as fuck and Walcott's been getting into the England team for years on the strength of that so I don't see a reason why Gabby hasn't had more chances.

I think it celebrates the strong jewish element in the local community - if they are fine with it the FA should butt out tbh. The FA should stick to football (which it does badly enough that branching out would seem a really bad idea).

Well, hopefully the fans will tell them just that. This is the danger of this kind of thing. Spurs fans have taken a pejorative word back and turned it into something positive, and that's the beauty of language; trying to come up with a specific list of banned words is a fool's errand.

The more and more I think about Saturdays game the happier I get. Benny causing a load of trouble 2 games in a row, less hoof ball, Cabaye playing in an advanced position with Sissoko deeper and not vice versa, FINALLY playing the 433 every fan was clamouring last season.

Just hoping for a big win against Hull at the weekend, Newcastle will be a much more optimistic place if that happens.
