It's ok Wnger has spoken.

"There are 18 days to go, so that is a long time in the transfer market and we will be active.
"I cannot certify what the number [of players coming in will be] but we will be active until the end, that is for sure."

Unfortunately he has been saying we are active for the last 6 weeks too so its all bollocks.

Surely that is years not weeks :p

That Spurs team is starting to look quite scary.
If they gel fast and city/chelsea have a few hickups maybe they could be an outside bet for winners? (should be good odds at least!).
Spurs don't tend to gel well though ;)

I already put £5 Spurs 1st, Shitty 2nd as a lucky bet, £600+ winnings if it happens.

Either way, I think the top 5 are going to be very tight this season.

It's silly to write Arsenal off yet, as they never buy anyone but still finish 4th. Spurs definitely do look better on paper, but that doesn't automatically mean results. QPR looked better on paper than a lot of teams above them and were complete fucking shit and they had the world's best manager(tm) Harry traitorous scum shit for brains triffic triffic awight Redknapp in charge.

Not gonna happen this time! We have an excellent manager and a very strong squad that will get even stronger in the next few weeks.

At least it feels like we're actually backing it up this year though. :)

I don't remember ever looking forward to a season this much. Usually it's more like "hey guys, if you want to put the start of the season off for like a month or so it's cool" but I genuinely can't wait this year.

This year sucks. For years I have taken the Arsenal have money stuff with a pinch of salt. But this year with everything that had been said I was genuinely excited for the transfer season. And was ecstatic when we finally started shedding dead wood. But now we are doing fuck all and I am worried. I feel like Wenger expects us to get Suarez in the same manner other teams have taken our players. On the last day of the window for a price that suites us. But a lot of our targets are getting picked up by other teams because we are fucking about wasting time.

I do not actually think we need a superstar striker we need an experienced goal keeper, two defenders and a holding midfielder. But I have a horrible feeling we will buy Shrek for a massively inflated fee on deadline day after Man U buy Bale.

I know that and I hope to be proved wrong. I still really want Fellaini he would give us something we have been missing since Paddy left. But there is only one day till the season kicks off and buying on the 1st of July so the players can join us in pre season would be smart. If we lose the first games everyone will bleed us dry knowing we are desperate to sign players as the windows closes. Also if we lose a CB this week we have no cover. Verminator is already out. The only reserve with first team games is out on loan. All of our defenders will be in the squad for villa. How can we be getting ready to start a season like that.

I feel your pain but I feel it with a smile on my face. :$

I still don't see Fellaini going your way if Moyes wants him at Utd - that's surely a no-brainer for him.

I still think Bale is his real target. If Fellaini had that buy out clause Moyes would have know it and bought him before it expired if he wanted him?

I don't see Bale going to RM. I can't put into words how unlikely I think it would be that he would go to another prem team.

Same here, our squads the most exciting I can ever remember it being, although obviously not the strongest it's been.

I'd agree with you but the gap between Arsenal and Tottenham has been shrinking for a while and this summer Arsenal have lost loads of players while Tottenham have signed lots of potentially good players.

Also that QPR team looked shit from the start, everyone they signed was clearly past it and far too expensive.

Motd is so much better when you don't know the scores! It's really hard to avoid them though. The worst is when you stick BBC one on 2 minutes before it starts and the fucking news has the scores up.

I shall also be putting 5x £1 bets on every week this season, I made about £500 out of £30 or so last season on £1 bets alone.

Marca, isn't that about as reliable as the Sun and Mirror combined?

Can't wait for tomorrow. Now i've got a job lined up i can properly relax and not feel guilty this weekend. Up at 8.30 to make a fry up in time for Soccer AM at 9, head to sainos at 12 to stock up on beers and something nice for lunch. Get home around 12.45 and watch football all day for 2 days. Grand.
