I don't have a problem with players not being able to play against their parent club tbh. Although, thinking about it, I think it should be allowed if they're in a different league.

What fucked me off was us buying Saha (well he was on a free) from Everton and then 'arry not playing him against them because of a "gentleman's agreement". We fucking lost as well. :(

They just need to make stopping players facing the team they're loaned against illegal.
That's only an FA rule, no such rule exists for Fifa or UEFA. In this case there's a clause in Courtous' contract where Atletico have the option to pay Chelsea a fee (around 5m) to play against us so really it's up to them. In the super cup we allowed it for his personal development.

Liverpool and City kicking off at 13:37 on Sunday...better not be a nil-nil.

That's fine, however who is to say that he doesn't have a conflict of interest. Say it was a striker that was on loan from Chelsea for example that bashed two goals in against them to win the cup and then shortly after finished his loan spell and went back? Or a keeper that purposefully lets in a couple of goals to allow Chelsea to win.

I am not saying either are likely to happen because most players are professional enough to play properly, but it could happen.

I don't think it is as clear cut as UEFA say.

I don't think it is as clear cut as they like to make it either.

Well we got Atl Madrid.

I don't think its the draw people wanted. Given what it is though, I'd kind of like to see an all-Madrid final now. And Atletico win.

considering what they stated last time this situation occurred, thats rather odd.

"As we, in line with the FIFA regulations on status and transfer of players, consider a loan to be a transfer, we do not have any regulations regarding players not playing against their parent club whilst on loan to another club. If a player is duly registered on the player list of IF Elfsborg then he can play against any team that Elfsborg are drawn against."

"Any agreement between the two clubs that this player wouldn’t play against Celtic should Elfsborg be drawn against them is purely between the clubs. UEFA would not have any involvement or consideration of this agreement, it would be neither endorsed or enforceable by UEFA."

I guess atletico could play hoim then, and we'll tell them to go fuck themselves regarding them begging for him next season.

If he plays, don't extend his loan.

Though after however many years he might want to stay and could well just hand in a transfer request I suppose.

It is ironic because we are set to do battle on and off the pitch with them.

Really looking forward to it.

Hopefully it will go down to the last game of the season for the title race.

Saw a Hull Tigers jacket in Cambodia the other day, maybe the new owners are on to something.

Wow, Spurs really don't want to play in the Europa League next season do they?

Looks to be a cunning plan, leave the channel 5 cup spot to Arsenal to overstretch them again next season.

Such a soft shit penalty. And if there has ever been a worse finisher start in an Arsenal first team than Sanogo I don't remember him.

You were... but I don't think you will be playing them again for quite a while. ;)
I didn't realise they'd won the world cup to, I must keep up with the news. I completely missed that Munich had become a county in it's own right.
